Agree. But we need players who can supplement him. Skipp will help no doubt but we need another midfielder in there and I don't think ndombele is that man (based on how our form tailed off last season when he played in a two) and neither is winks or sissoko. He is a problem that needs solving. And fast.

he's shown glimpses of being that man he needs to do it consistently for the price he cost and the level of expectation. He's ceiling is higher than any other midfielder we have and he's shown it far more than GLC. If he isn't fit this season by all means sack him off but I want winks and sissoko out of the door first

I don't understand this graph. I vividly remember him playing 45mins against Southampton in the second game of the season and coming off at HT. The above would suggest differently?!
You are 100% correct. I dropped the data in reverse. So last games first, first games last.

(Like I said, quick graph, hehe - I had an hour to kill before I could leave work.)

We’ve had some players that have been pretty disappointing over the last couple of years. Some you can see have something that a good coach could work with and others it’s clear is time to move on. Pretty sure Ndombele fits into the first bucket and I’m willing to see what Nuno can do with him. It’s make or break for him though this year.

How did Hojbjerg do in comparison?

Because that’s what he should be measured against.
No comparison. One passes the ball forward, the other doesn't, One creates chances for his teammates , the other one rarely does. One has the ability to commit and beat an opponent, the other one does not.

Did you watch the Euros? Højbjerg definately has the ability to do that, he just isn't used that way here.

So! It’s not as if his partner was due to to give birth. It’s happened already. He cannot do a run out pre-season? Says it all for me if true.
You know that some fathers want to be there, offering support when the baby arrives, yeah?
And that includes the first few weeks after the actual birth.
We've moved on from the dad waiting in the hospital hallway, then going down the pub. Thankfully.

I took 6 weeks of paternity leave when my 9yr old was born. It was a good thing, because my wife had to have an emergency C-section, and my son was premature and in the NICU for a few weeks.

I wish I would have taken the same time with my 2 other children, but my work didn't allow for it at the time.

9 years old doesn't sound premature, actually sounds like quite a late arrival to me

Over here, we get 2 weeks paternity leave but I doubled that for all of my kids.
It wasn't just that I wanted to support my wife, I wanted to be involved with my children too.
