and he's by far the best defensive RB in the league, which is amazing given the amount of ground he is asked to cover. Think the portion in yesterday's game were he won the ball at our own goal line then sent our counter away, raced three quarters of the pitch and ended up the furthest forward. Nothing came from it but the total commitment he shows for the team every single time he plays is something the fans don't appreciate nearly enough.

you are preaching to the choir. I am in awe of his athleticism. He can cover every inch of the right third from touchline to touchline for 90 minutes. Even if you arent satisfied with what hes doing with the ball he frees up other players.

Didn't offer any crosses I can remember and with Davies we had nothing the other side either.
Nice pink booties though

This so much, everytime he got the ball in Swansea's half two Swansea players were going over to meet him. This gave Eriksen the space to work his magic.
Also Sissoko needed to get the fuck out of Kyle's way he was just clogging up the space for Kyle to work in.

for all the grief Walker gets about his crosses he's tops among all EPL defenders with 6 assists.

It's 5. Adam Smith has only got one less than him and he's also got a goal. Soares makes more key passes and creates more chances (and makes more tackles) and he's playing in a back 4 for a mid table team. Last season Walker had 3, season before 0, season before 1. Season before 1. That's an average of 2 a season.

What you need to ask yourself is how many other rb's are playing in a system that allows or encourages them to get forward, or even playing as a wing back, as Walker has spent a massive chunk of the season doing, it those terms his return of 5 assists, 3 of which came in a 30 day period Dec/Jan, meaning he's provided 2 other assists in 7 months of playing mostly as a wing back for one of the best 2/3 teams in this league. Is that really so fabulous ?

Are any of our players not committed ? Eriksen covers more ground than anyone in our team, he probably gets even less credit for that than Walker does for the ground he covers.

It's great that Walker runs a lot, his commitment, speed and stamina have never been questioned, if only football stopped there he'd be playing for Barcelona now, but it doesn't.

He's improved as a package under Pochettino, especially defensively, and there maybe a bit of a paucity of quality RB's in the PL but hat still doesn't make Walker's deficiencies less real.

I'd love him to whip in a few crosses but he's always thinking of the team first. He would rather retain possession than fire one across the six yard box

There's plenty of footballers that try there best but don't get close to the level Walker is at, yes he could be better, and commitment is expected from a poch side, but any spurs fan that's lived through the AVB/Sherwood fiasco, let alone the past twenty years shouldn't take commitment to the team and the squad for granted.

Your argument would be valid if the RBs for the best teams in the world were getting more assists, but they're not. Walker has more assists per 90 than Carvajal, Lahm, Dani Alves and Juanfran. I think you argued that Cedric, if he were playing in a better team, would be getting many more assists. Well, Carvajal creates more chances than both Cedric and Walker, yet he has fewer assists, so...

He would start for every team in the league

Walker is by far a better football than Smith, shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence. Stats dont tell the whole story, or what he does for the teams balance (his pace and high work rate), its like saying Jeff Hendrick or Capoue have more assists or goals than Dembele, but we know what player every team would pick out of those 3.

That Walker to Eriksen pass and then cross is a huge feature to our play, we've clearly been working on it...watch closely ;)

He's a much better player than many give him credit for and a great guy to have around the squad.

He's part of one of the best defences, often key to us stretching opposition offensively, a very decent footballer, clearly tactically smart, never lets his head drop etc.

Even Cafu misplaced passes and crosses when running full tilt and had brain farts etc. Only human.

Walker and Rose own their wings more games than not. Most of my mates who support other top teams are envious we have them now.

It depends whether or not you count the cross against City, where Kolarov (?) got two hairstraws on the ball before it reached Alli. For some reason, the statsmeisters don't count it, even though it didn't change the path of the ball one bit.

I'd say 6.
