Fair play to him because he has taken a lot of stick over the years but he has improved beyond belief just like Rose.

Kyle Walker reveals private conversation with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino

KYLE WALKER has revealed the private conversation he had with Mauricio Pochettino before the start of the season.

In it, the Spurs wing-back vowed to offer Pochettino more going forward - and he's kept his word.

Walker has bombed up and down the right all season - bar one game he missed - and contributed five assists to help Tottenham's title tilt.

Walker told Sky Sports: "Me and the gaffer sat down at the start of the season and it was something I wanted to add to my game.

"I've been working hard in training at crosses and passing and stuff like that to bring something different to my game.

"Defending is one thing but if I can set up a few goals, which I have done this season, hopefully I can do a lot more.

"It brings another dimension to your game.

"The gaffer trusts in us to get forward but make sure we get back at the same time.

"We have the license to get forward but most of the time this season we've played three at the back.

"We've had the license to play further up the field as wing-backs rather than next to the centre-halves."

Spurs are 10 points behind Chelsea with 11 games to go but Walker isn't ruling out a late challenge.

He added: "We just need to take every game as it comes, prepare right, keep doing what the manager says, keep listening and working hard and keeping doing what we've done throughout the season.

"The manager can see he's got a good group of players in and we can definitely see we've got a good manager.

"We just need to work together and keep doing the basics right."

Ive never understood the grief he gets. Through six seasons with four managers he's been automatic on the team sheet when healthy, young player of the year, 25 caps.

We have the best fullbacks in the league. Walkers. Blend of defence and what he gives in attack is hard to find and his conentration has really gone up so the at time random mistakes of the past seem to be very rare these days. Seems like a good down to Earth guy too

Those who constantly dig out Walker seriously need to wake up and smell the coffee

Yes we all know he has many many flaws but the positives outweigh the negatives about a million to 1

He's been a fantastic player for us for many seasons now and is a very very important part of this side

Many of you should know better having to watch the hundreds of ordinary or shit right backs we've had over the years

Concentrate your energy elsewhere.

We've had the best defence in the league for a good while now and KW is a big part of that

Still does not get the credit he deserves by many supporters. Real shame

for all the grief Walker gets about his crosses he's tops among all EPL defenders with 6 assists.
and he's by far the best defensive RB in the league, which is amazing given the amount of ground he is asked to cover. Think the portion in yesterday's game were he won the ball at our own goal line then sent our counter away, raced three quarters of the pitch and ended up the furthest forward. Nothing came from it but the total commitment he shows for the team every single time he plays is something the fans don't appreciate nearly enough.
