Ever since we lost to Chelsea in the cup I have seen nearly everyone in our starting 11 linked with a move away, it's the rags that want us to fail, desperate for it actually.
There will be truth in the Walker thing. It's clearly been leaked to the press by his agent
He'll stay, get a bump on the wages, but this is the world we're in now. All our players are very good
Why we think we can continue to get away with a wage structure that is so below everyone else's does amuse me. It's necessary but there will be casualties because of it, especially with our older players. Do Spurs fans really think we are the only club whose players aren't money motivated? Bit arrogant.
Fans act all offended but he's not a Spurs fan, he's not even from London, he's one of our longest serving players with nothing to show for it, was dropped for our big fa cup semi, and he could triple his salary for a team no less likely to win something.
While Kane and Alli are going nowhere clearly, I wouldn't be surprised to see someone sold. Of all the people we could lose from starting 11, he's near the top of the list, no?
Much rather him than Rose altho I actually think the latter is more likely. But we'll see.
I agree. I'd play for spurs for 70k but he won't. Like you say, our players are becoming better and better and becoming as in demand as ever so to get away with 70k may not happen.
I don't think we will sell anyone but in ny view most of these players will stay for a season or perhaps two before moving in if we don't win things soon along with increases
I would put 15m aside and improve every first team players contract accordingly and extend a further year to the younger first teamers rather then buy another nkoudou
Most of them signed new contracts last year ..
Doesn't really mean anything. Just raises the price.
Worst possible example, Payet signed a new long-term contract about six months before he left.
Recent-ish Spurs example: Bale signed a new four-year contract in June 2012, orchestrated to leave for Madrid the next summer, it finally going through in September.
have often thought that the club should give license to a member of the media team to respond to media speculation incredibly quickly (and slightly disparagingly) + build it into discussions with the players so they know the club won't countenance efforts to destabilize from the outside eg:
"Kyle Walker will be a tottenham player when the transfer window closes at the end of the summer and we hope for the rest of his career" said Spurs Communications Boss. "Neither the owners, chair, coach nor players pay any attention to nonsensical rumors such as the one suggesting Kyle is joining one of our rivals whether it be Bayern or Barcelona."

you are 100% correct. To be fair that's what Poch did last week in the press conference didn't he? Not personally about Walker but about our players and Levy?
you are 100% correct.
In a way with that guidance it would be easy for the Comms people to bash down stories quick....have a sense that if this is done a few times, the hacks will move on to trying to destabilize another club (win, win)
Bale had outgrown us. Not a single player is too good for Tottenham right now, mainly due to how good we are as a team right now. They're at a club with one of the best stadiums in the world on the horizon and a team who are good enough to win the league. If Dele was to have a couple more seasons where he smashed 20 PL goals a season and we don't win the league id worry about him leaving. Right now I don't understand why anyone is even worried.
