They play same inverted position albeit on different sides, although Lamela is more of a harrier / presser and GKN seems more a pacey winger.

But their circumstances are similar in a way that they are having to adapt to a new country and both quite young and GKN like Lamela before him, should not be written off too early.

Circumstances are similar? Really? lamela was a£30m signing after hitting 15 goals in serie a after being hyped up massively from a very young age, how is gkn similar?

Poch clearly doesn't rate him. Most of the time he plays he does a great job from what I've seen of him.

Been thinking the same thing since January. Until Janssen and GKN came on Sissoko offered very little, albeit a bit better than usual performance from Sissoko, these two changed the game. I just wish Poch had made the decision to bring on GKN a bit sooner, I reckon he would've scored a goal for us tonight given a little more time. For Dele's goal he was arriving at the far post and if Dele had missed the ball GKN would been there to tap in for us. His movement and speed is so obviously needed in our squad.

It's too bad it seems that he'll never get a proper chance to grow into the squad, I always felt he could become a dangerous weapon.

possibly the price tag of both players tells us how he rates them, although it could be changing fast
