It's like mourinho is shielding Bale which is putting pressure on mourinho. So Bale must be considered so bad for mourinho to put himself in this position

All he needs to do is play him ffs

Bale has been no worse than some others this season, but he’s held to a higher standard due to his past achievements at Spurs and elsewhere. Understandable, but the system doesn’t really suit him given that he no longer has blistering pace to rely on.

I’m not sure if he’d be top class in a more offensive system, but he’d likely be better than he is.

Firstly, thanks for actually replying in a non sarcastic manner, I know you've filed me under the "****" section but it's good to talk every now and then.

So I have another question (sorry for being slightly off topic in the wrong thread).

You're a world renowned manager, I'm not using world class because your best days might be behind you. You've got a 31 year old Gareth Bale, knowing the type of player he is (because the whole world does) and you choose to play him away to Brighton knowing we are going to struggle to compete for the ball and we have no talisman in our leading scorer.

You're then at home to a bottom 3 club, knowing you're going to have loads of the ball and could do with as many goal threats on the pitch as you possibly can. And you don't play him.

Are you wanting him to fail, proving a point, or just quite clearly dropping a bollock?

Yeah I'm gonna actively stop being a silly ****, apologies :D

I think that Bale needs some confidence to get going and needs to be loved but I've always maintained that Jose isn't a manager that puts him arm around players and doesn't have time to do that. I honestly thought he expected Bale just to pickup his form that he was displaying 2 years ago or similar and he'd eventually play his way back into the side, similarly I think Bale came here for a bit of a holiday and probably expected to play more.

Like I mentioned before I would at least hope against someone like Brighton that Bale showed something on the pitch, again body language suggested that he didn't want to be there, it was disappointing, just like the many games we've seen him play this season, at what point do you accept that he's not gonna show what need to see.

I think we're clearly at a point where we're not gonna re-sign him for another season so it's pointless playing him or give him the run of matches he needs if he's not gonna be around in 3 months.

I’ve been told by someone very high up in the coaching team that ‘Gareth is very much “not himself’ Nothing new that we as supporters aren’t aware of, but it’s been acknowledged by those in the highest echelons
(Edit. I do get ITK but always go via A&C & Rob. However, I felt that what I’ve shared is pretty darn obvious to us supporters...)

Don't tell me we've been fooled into re-signing Kenny MCevoy

Sorry to be thick, but is this due to not playing, Jose, or both ?

I mean, i dont think its Spurs fault at all. This is a man who has been undeservedly shit on by his manager, his club, the fans & the media for the last 3 years even though he’s won all these trophies for them(and is the reason for some of them as well). That will take its toll on anyone. I think the problem right now is, he needs to be coddled and loved. Ironically, the man for that job would have been Poch. He would be in a much better place right now if Poch was here. Mourinho is not that type of manager.

What does that mean?

By all accounts he hasn't been 'himself' for about 2 years - he was happy to be at Spurs about 3 months ago, it was all smiles, clapping and cheering from the bench etc...so what's changed?

Someone high up in the coaching team says " he is not himself " when people high up in my spurs supporting family say " he is not top quality anymore " The only saving grace for him may be playing the Lorente roll ( lamppost ) and play for his knockdowns and flick ons .
His " taxi for Maicon " days are well and truly gone . Sad to say but the truth hurts .

If Jose didn't want him he needed to put his foot down

But seen as Jose likes these kind of players, it does seem like he was only to happy for him to come.

Im now certain that Levy and Jose are not on the same page with this one.

Levy pulled out all the stops to bring him.back and Jose has hardly given him a fair crack in the PL. When I say fair crack, I mean 90 mins or back to back games.

For sure Barrett would have been on the phone to Levy wanted to know why he's brought him in to not play him and we already had ITK that everyone was peed off with the situation and that Bale believes he needs consistent game time - which I actually agree with.
He hasn't been good enough. You can sugar coat it all you want but he doesn't even sprint any more.

The fact he’s not getting frustrated mean he probably is finished. Which would be very sad.

If I were him I would say go out on your shield and just throw yourself about. Better to die fighting than leave football at a jog.

Best thing he could do right now is bugger off to the MLS and wind his career down

The realisation that he knows believes he isn't good enough whereas 3 months ago he thought he just needed to get up to speed

Very sad for all concerned if that's the case
