What does that mean?

By all accounts he hasn't been 'himself' for about 2 years - he was happy to be at Spurs about 3 months ago, it was all smiles, clapping and cheering from the bench etc...so what's changed?
Again, I was told by someone “tier 1” that he’s “just not himself”. Whether that’s cos he’s lost a bollock, or he’s coming out as gay... I don’t know, beyond those words uttered

Yet yesterday he posted that he had a great session. So unless that was a golf session or drinking session (unlikely I think) then I smell some BS and this is Jose just not wanting him. Along with not playing Vini tonight perhaps it’s Jose who doesn’t want to be here anymore

He seriously needs a haircut.. he spends time on the pitch adjusting and tying and re-tying and re-tying his hair rather often..

Could be his mental health. Coming back to the club where he made his name and maybe he's been trying really hard to get fit but his body is breaking down or maybe the fact that he's also not being selected for games is getting him down.

Great shame. I'd always have him at least as a bench option because he can make a difference. He gets so few minutes that there must be a a total breakdown between him and Mourinho. Very disappointing

Looks like someone needs a childhood story from Daniel Levy.

"Look Gaz, back when I was in Year 9 I used to be great at maths. In Year 10 we had a new teacher and he couldn't stand me and kept failing me and not picking me to answer questions when I had my hand raised. I switched schools and got myself a new calculator and thought it would all be fine again, but what's a calculator gonna do if you're out of practice with your basic formulae? Anyway good chat glad we're seeing eye to eye"

After all the social media bombast of him signing, stadium unveiling vid, flight tracking, interviews with him and crouch etc. What a damp squib.

Not blaming anyone but its an awful shame. if its going to continue on like this I wish it had never happened. the club and player are getting mugged off.

Our memories of him will be tarnished by this saga.

imagine there was no covid and we had full stadium with people shelling out for Bale 9 shirts at 60 quid a pop. There would be murder

I really believe that he just reached the very top and doesn't care as much about football as he used to, I know it's a lazy joke but he genuinely does seem to care more about golf now.

Even when he was at Madrid, I know he was frozen out and he was very happy to sit on the bench and wind down his contract, but the same happened to Beckham and he rose to the challenge of proving them wrong. He's adored by Madrid fans because of his reaction and determination to get back in the team, whereas Bale clearly didn't give a shit and even made jokes about it, laughing on the bench etc.

Mentally, he's checked out from the game. I thought a move here might reignite him but he's done, guys. China or America await.

Josè said in pre-match that the reason he is not on the bench, is because he “felt” something in practice yesterday. “Not saying it’s an injury but..”

What a colossal waste of time and money. He doesn't look anything like the player that left, he'll be gone at the end of the season, and we have others in the same position that actually want to be here.

Such a shame how this developed/developing, from the euphoria of the week we signed him back to now this.

Definitely strikes me as Jose not being interested. Probably the one manager who wouldn't be able to get the best out of him anyway.

Spend years wanting him to come back, no fans allowed in to witness it etc and here we are.

Based on his performances to date he does not deserve to play as he has been operating at about 70% effort and commitment. When he actually sprints off the ball or puts his foot in, maybe he will get a chance.

The realisation that he knows believes he isn't good enough whereas 3 months ago he thought he just needed to get up to speed

Very sad for all concerned if that's the case
Yeah there is that iswell ! Though I still don’t believe he has had the proper run of games needed either tbh
