Starting second half just like the first. Cheeky heel kick and we’re back innit

Such a shame how this developed/developing, from the euphoria of the week we signed him back to now this.

Definitely strikes me as Jose not being interested. Probably the one manager who wouldn't be able to get the best out of him anyway.

Spend years wanting him to come back, no fans allowed in to witness it etc and here we are.

Zidane wasn't interested in the end either. Pretty easy to see why.

We lost to Everton who had to take off Calvert-Lewin, who didn’t have James Rodriguez and had a awful bench while we had a strong bench and people are saying we played well this isn’t Jose’s fault ?

Look at how low the standards are under the serial winner Jose ?

Really wish we hadn’t brought him back now. It’s tarnishing his legacy here.

I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if Bale sat out his final year in Madrid then retired from football.

The follow up is even more shocking :

"So he didn't train on Monday and then on Tuesday he trained with the team but I was informed that his desire would be to work with the sports science for a couple of days to strengthen that area. That's the reason why he's not here."

Sooo strange. It's like he has some kind've mental block, anytime he feels a tweak in his body he's like nope.

At this point in your career, your hardly ever going to be pain free. I do think there are clear physical issues, but in addition serious mental ones too that I don't think he'll overcome. If you aren't motivated to play through even the slightest amount of pain, then you're going to be unavailable most of the time.

To be honest I wanted to see him feature more before because we were underwhelming from an offensive perspective and that it was worth the chance to see him feature more and potentially gain some sort of form. Now that we've had a few games where we've shown that we can be effective going forward and the intensity and work-rate that our players are showing to achieve that, I'm not sure how much I even want to see him in the side.

I mean his form and current ability alone raise cause for concerns, but the multiple injuries thrown in too and it's just really not good is it.

The irony is you've got players like cavani vardy running their legs off well into their 30s

Maybe could have used him tonight
What difference would it have made? Attack wasnt the issue for once. The defense were having a competiton to see who could be most brain dead.

I've no idea how the contractual.side of loans work, but save some covid pennies and send him back to Madrid. Put it towards a better CB.

He's not himself? As much as I wish he was the old Bale or at least somewhere near it, that's not our problem. It's Madrids.

Fed up of hoping he will 'come good'. What a mess this club is in terms of personnel

Bale's obviously had numerous muscle injuries: tears, strains, that require time out and rehab. I think he doesn't have the desire anymore for that part of the game and the hard work it takes to come back stronger, but I'm only speculating. What worries me is the fear of injury after slight pain. It's more mental than physical, I don't think he has the drive to be at the top level anymore, or at least try to get there again.

As someone else just said, the difference between Cavani and Bale is stark and it’s nearly all mental. Cavani has been a breath of fresh air for United and how we all thought we got the better deal!

Bale is mentally finished. A long line of bad squad building decisions by levy to bring him back. His wages would go towards two or three young hungry decent players we could have in the squad instead.
