Reckon we'll let him go somewhere for a nice contract and sign somebody like Maxi Gomez. Wish him well whatever he does next. Wouldn't be averse to him staying on.

Nando’s contract was due to end yesterday and he’s showing as “without club” on Transfermarkt, however our official site still lists him as a Spurs player and our official Twitter hasn’t announced his departure (they did announce Vorm’s)

Hope we give him another year. We need to spend big money elsewhere and another year will give Troy Parrott a bit of development time.

The lack of announcement or twitter account action on Llorente is interesting. Maybe it means nothing and its all to come, but I expected something today. Does make me wonder if there are discussions about lower terms and we haven't quite put this one to bed...

I think he will retire. Last game was the CL final. Why go to a smaller club and graft or be bit part player when you can go out at the top end of club football? Plus pre-season is never attractive once you go past 32!

If Aduriz (38) wasn't still on contract at Bilbao, I could see him going back there to end his career.

We need all round class in every position now. Not make dos
What about Danny Welbeck? Put the Arsenal connection aside, I think he would be ideal

1) He is free

2) He would be happy to sit on the bench being injury prone

3) Proven PL experience

4) Home grown

5) Proven match changer coming off the bench

I would have no problem getting him in as believe it or not, he would strengthen our squad by being a good deputy for Senor Kane

I was actually thinking the same thing a few weeks back.

Remember when we were in for him about five years ago? He went for a pretty penny even back then.

Arsenal, desperate Arsenal, don't want him. Injuries have hit his career badly and he is a busted flush. Avoid at all costs.

Still think this is all a bit odd. Just can’t see any reason we wouldn’t say goodbye to him.

No way for me. Never rated him regardless of the Arsenal connection. Bang average at best and has an injury record to rival Carol and WIlshire. For me he's one of those players who has benefited from the HG rules. If he was from an unfashionable country e.g. Taiwan he would've left Man Utd for a relegation-battling team in the prem or gone down to the championship even and faded into irrelevancy. It's a joke that he's spent his whole career with "top 6" sides.

So I can safely assume you don't rate him much

Correct.

I thought he looked alright when he first broke through at United, showed some promise, but never really lived up to it in the end. Got older and older without getting any better IMO and while I accept that is partly down to injuries, that also counts against him in my book. Like I say I just don't see the logic in signing him, even for free. He doesn't really add anything to the squad at all as far as I'm concerned. Obviously that doesn't necessarily make me right and you're welcome to disagree, just my two cents on it.

Curious that no more news on the Nando front, unlike Vorm etc, I would give him another year, he was immense when called upon in the Champions League

He's no longer listed in the first team on the official website.

(n)

This makes me sad. The guy SAVED US multiple times, and I honestly believe he was starting to “get it” (if you catch my drift). Experienced, cerebral, cagey veteran Strikers who are willing to help the team in any way possible aren’t exactly growing on trees. As a 100% back-up to Kane I think Nando was perfect for us, and I think we’ll miss him in more ways than one. Plus, the guy either scored- or had a huge hand in- two of our most important goals of the season. Whatever one can say about his diminished skill set, fact is, dude was clutch.

Oh well...

Strange there wasn't a 'send off' for the guy on Twitter or the official website

Perhaps both the club and the player are evaluating their options and he might resign in a few weeks time, if we can't get another player in?

Maybe they want to have a good look at Troy Parrott in pre season and see if he’s ready for the back up striker role. Still think it’s a season to soon imo he’s still only 17 turning 18 in February.
