Absolutely perfect third choice striker.

kane should be the first choice, a second player who can play st but also wf would be ideal(griezman ish), and llorente as the third option and play him like last night is the perfect rotation

Don’t we have two of those in Lucas and Son?

In a squad where we can have 25 registered seniors, there absolutely is space for Llorente at least for one more year.

I think Poch will have this covered, I’ve not got a clue.
Moura in first half would have been hooked by me :ROFLMAO:

Very close, but they are more WF that can play ST rather than ST that could play WF. Seems like a small difference in but a huge difference in effectiveness and tactics.

Someone like griezman, rashford is closer to who I am describing

Oh look, play an experienced 6'4'' centre forward as a proper target man, and what happens? Space, second balls, and carnage. Great, warriors display from him last night.

I'm thinking that Janssen could have some benefits playing alongside Llorente, but I guess that's a little too late

Second half in the first leg he looked a lot better, first time to be honest I had seen he be a real target man in a long while. Real plan B in the second leg, and incredibly effective. Very pleased for him, let’s hope he has one more cameo in him this season

Sun reporting we aren't planning on extending his contract, but tbh it reads more like an educated guess so who knows.

For me, Llorente was the game changer.

With him on the field, we were able to take a more direct approach & attack from a more advanced position.
He constantly had De ligt occupied & fended him off.
Llorente won 13 of 17 aerial duels. That's more than any other player in this season's CL knockout phase.
And the 2nd most amount including the group stage.

And he did it in 45 mins.

I think I've seen enough from Llorente to "like" him but not want him around any more into next season.

I know they're not an exact like for like swap, but imagine if we had Zaha instead of Llorente - just as strong but also able to run and produce skills to beat his man.

I am of course extremely grateful for his contributions in our Champions League run, however the fact is two PL goals from 36 games (even if many of them weren't starts) is not even close to being good enough, and the reality of it is at his age he is likely to get worse next season not better. I'd rather he left now so our lasting memories of him are him celebrating in that green shirt rather than getting beaten to the ball by a random Norwich defender yet again as we struggle to break them down.

Wasn't on the unretained list today, can we assume that he's got a new one-year contract extension?
