Don't be sillyDamn, he's younger than I thought he was.
3rd most assists in the league having played less games than the top two.
Let’s not pretend losing him won’t be a loss.
It absolutely will be but I just get the feeling that both parties need a change. We need to cash in rather than losing him on a free and he needs a new challenge.
12 assists in 35 games really isn't good enough for a player who up until last night was taking the bulk of our corners and free kicks.3rd most assists in the league having played less games than the top two.

11 in 37 last season
15 in 36 the season before
15 in 35 the season before that.
Those last 2 are more what you'd expect from a player of his supposed calibre but he has not been good enough this last 6 months. Sure he'd be a loss, not disputing it. But not as big a loss as some people think
Marca reporting that they've chosen to go after Pogba instead of Eriksen, as of today.
If he goes I won't be upset at this stage.
He should take a long hard look at himself. He hasn't played anywhere close to how he can play. Now that could be burn out but he's looked well off it for about 6 months so I don't see that as the issue. Then he should look at someone like Hazard who also looks like he's leaving and see how he performed not only in the EL final but throughout the last season. That's how a player leaves a legacy at a club.
He reminds me so much of Ozil now. Shirking responsibility. No desire or heart or will. It said it all for me when Danny Rose was taking the corners last night.
Why?
He doesn't like receiving the ball in tight spaces with the opposition surrounding him. Countless times I've seen him panic when being pressed and try flick the ball away. For a player so technically gifted he doesnt trust his ability enough in those instances. His best position is always in the pocket as close to Kane as possible, as he's able to get his head up and do something.
For this reason I'd love to see someone like Lo Celso or Ndombele just behind him pulling the strings and allowing him to just focus on finding space.
I think the size of the loss will depend on who replaces him.
None of the current squad are the right fit to be his successor.
He does seem to be scared of contact. I'd like to see him try play for a foul sometimes, he can definitely do it but rather than that he just tries to pass it to no-one in particular and sceed possession.I honestly think he's just scared of getting a knock. He shirks physicality at all costs. He'd rather get rid of the ball as quickly as possible than take a good old fashioned tackle.
There's a reason he doesn't get injured much.
I would agree.
But selling him could also allow us to change our system. We have been to reliant on Eriksen playing well to allow our other players to play well. Like Liverpool when they lost Coutinho they changed the way they played and look at them. They don't have a creator but they overload the box and batter most teams they play because of it. Every attack we have goes through Eriksen for the most part. It's predictable. We need to stop being that way.
