That still leaves Kovacic (not sure if Chelsea have an obligation, or if they're even able to). Kroos, Modric, Ceballos, Isco, asensio, Casemiro, Lucas. Plus they still have to find a buyer to Bale (no doubt will have to subsidise his wages somehow), Benzema isn't getting any younger too.

I doubt Real M. will sell all those players this summer though....but with Real M. - or rather their president, Perez - one never knows.
Besides, Casemiro is a DM and both Lucas (Vasquez) and Asensio are WF so they are not needed to be moved to give place for Eriksen. Kroos and Isco will both be snapped up quickly if Real M. are selling them.

Benzema's been playing regularly all season, also during Zidane, and he scored a hat-trick in their last game (vs Bilbao) so I doubt he's out of favour.
Yes, he's 31 so for sure they'll be looking for a new top-notch CF but that doesn't mean they'll view replacing Benzema as one of the top-priorities...

Spot on! Benzema is their current favourite this season and I doubt that he will leave this summer.

Christian Eriksen
The focus is so often on what Eriksen isn’t and what he doesn’t do, rather than what he is and does. That’s a compliment, really. The ceiling of his potential is so high that supporters cannot fathom why he cannot sustain the highs in every game. I partly blame the rise of FIFA, with its reset energy levels at the start of every one-off match.

But here’s the thing: Eriksen turned 27 in February and has already played 520 senior career matches. By way of randomly selected example, Nemanja Vidic made 547 senior appearances in his entire career. Mesut Ozil, another fine Premier League creator, is on 624 but is three-and-a-half years older than Eriksen. Ozil also doesn’t register the distance covered and sprint statistics that is expected of Eriksen at Tottenham.

That takes its toll. It is possible to be both a creator and worker, but it’s a damn hard balance. The two tenets, chasing players down to win the ball with intense pressing and then being immediately calm to pick out the perfect pass or shoot at goal, is tough. When Mauricio Pochettino urged Eriksen to be the complete midfielder, contributing as much without the ball as with it, he knew that he risked dimming the bright light of his creativity. But for the good of the team, he had to urge.

And yet still Eriksen gets Tottenham over the line. Not every week, and perhaps not even as much as some Tottenham supporters would like, but often enough to remind us of his brilliance. If Tottenham can add strength in depth this summer, giving Eriksen some support to stop him being laboured by fatigue, they will reap the rewards.

United will never ever return to what they once were when they continue to believe they can attract the absolute top tier players.

I base this on nothing but my gut, however I absolutely believe that Eriksen would rather stay and sign a new contract with us and play CL football in our new stadium, with his friends and a manager who is only getting better and better, than move to United, who are playing EL football in a vacuous shit hole of a stadium with a team full of mercenaries and a manager still stuck in the Sir Alex era.

Agree
Last 8 goals for Real have been scored by Benzema
Nobody else has scored.
On a hot streak
but has played well all season.

Man United plot Christian Eriksen move as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer puts Tottenham star at heart of summer rebuild

Manchester United want Christian Eriksento be a central part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s rebuild at Old Trafford.

United’s interest in Eriksen dates to Louis van Gaal’s reign and they are preparing to rival Real Madrid for his signature in the summer.
It's pretty crazy I'm not even remotely concerned about this as a possibility.

Like all things in football I never doubt enough money turns heads. I just share because it's almost assuredly an agent leak to try and test Madrid and Spurs.

Totally. I just don't see why he would go there. Would only be financial, and I'd assume others could offer him the same.

Think City could be interested, and obviously that'd be a big risk - we could take Sane in return....

Nah, no shot. Silva, Silva, De Bruyne and Foden. They'll go big for a DM no doubt.

If Eriksen goes I'm going to be utterly inconsolable and likely to need therapy for years. Just telling you now so that you can get your best "talk 'em down" or "just fucking jump" comments ready.

In other outdated news, Blackburn set to rival United in next seasons title race.
Also, sliced bread becomes a thing.

Just got a notification on the phone showing an AS article saying Eriksen has a verbal agreement to join Real. We all know AS like to do Reals tapping up foe them but we had ITK that we wouldn't stop him moving to Real/Barca, as long as the fee was right.

AS are basically the onion for football. Thought the latest itk was he wanted barca not madrid and there was no intrest there, at least not yet.
