Reading through the masterplan pdf. It looks like the club have still tried keeping the phased method as an option.

So that's saying we might not move out? I thought that was a fait accompli. Could we really demolish WHL and build that whole end of the stadium in a summer?

Interesting. For people wondering about the rake (35 degrees apparently) and size of the Kop.

Edit
It also has a stage for conferences. Because why not.

Tottenham stadium will cause 'substantial harm to area's historic character' claim heritage body

Construction: Tottenham plan to build a new 61,000 stadium that will be the biggest in London Tottenham Hotspur FC
Tottenham's plans to build the biggest club stadium in London is facing objections from Historic England, who believe the north London side's work will "cause substantial harm" to the character of the area.

Spurs revealed plans in July to transform their current home into a new 61,000 all-seater stadium by 2018 - making it bigger than Arsenal's Emirates Stadium which holds just over 60,000 fans - and confirmed the arena would host NFL matches when it is completed.

But Historic England, the public body that looks after the country's historic environment, have expressed their concerns about three Victorian and Edwardian heritage buildings in the area that will be demolished to make way for a wider pavement during the construction process.

A spokesman for Historic England said: "We believe Spurs' latest proposals will cause substantial harm to the historic character of the surrounding area."

Tottenham revealed updated plans on Wednesday that shows fans what their new stadium will look like when it is finished, with four asymmetrical stands being covered in a sculptured mesh

The new stadium, though, means Spurs will have to find a temporary home for the 2017/18 campaign - but they are unlikely to be granted use of Wembley Stadium after Chelsea, who will start work on increasing the capacity of Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, are thought to be favourites to secure a deal.

The Blues will re-develop their current west London home into a new 60,000-capacity stadium, which will see the Premier League champions play elsewhere for three seasons beginning in 2017 and ending in 2020.

Despite Chelsea thought to be ahead of Spurs in negotiations for Wembley, Tottenham are believed to be happy to share the ground with their London rivals - with one alternative being to play at MK Dons' stadium:mk.

But London Mayor, Boris Johnson, recently urged the FA and Premier League to avoid such a situation occurring by finding a way to keep Chelsea and Tottenham in the capital while the clubs rebuild their grounds.

The Mayor told the Standard: "London’s football clubs belong in London. Their supporter base is here in the capital. That’s why it’s important during major stadium redevelopment that London clubs continue to play here.

"I’d urge the FA and the Premier League to do all they can to accommodate Spurs and Chelsea inside the capital as they reshape their homes at White Hart Lane and Stamford Bridge."

You guys thinks this gonna be a Big obstacle..!?
Nah. Like preserving a couple of buildings is more important than regenerating an area desperately in need or regeneration.

They've expressed concerns and can now feel like they've done their job but the train has left the station now imo. If they really had a problem they'd have had 'strong objections'.

More details on the sliding pitch from Skyscrapercity. Looks like it will split in to three, will be interesting to see how this works.

I don't get how a 3 part pitch isn't going to cause a disrupted playing surface, but I'm sure they've thought of a clever solution.

It does feel a little like the football is playing second fiddle to the NFL but I guess the astro turf has to be lower for the sightlines so there was little alternative.

It's easy to miss, but it's in there...

A range of phasing options have been reviewed to explore whether a strategy could be developed that would enable THFC to continue playing on site during the whole of the construction works. This would require the demolition of the north portion of the existing stadium and completion of the southern portion of the new stadium and associated podium space during a single season.

The design of the new south stand has been developed with a steel structure and simple fit-out, to optimise the construction programme for this element of the works, but at this stage it appears that THFC may need to relocate for a season to facilitate a sensible completion of the later parts of the construction. The design team is continuing to assess the phasing strategy and options to determine whether THFC will need to relocate for a single season.

Maybe a year away isn't a certainty.

I believe the plan would be to move into a part finished stadium whilst the final stand is completed.

That was the plan with the previous stadium. The running plan at the moment is a year away in which WHL is demolished and the south part of the new stadium built.

Though it appear they're looking into possible solutions of us not having to move away, though think that would still mean moving into a fully finished new stadium.
