Except....

We have a signed contract with the NFL for a minimum of two regular season matches for ten years starting from 2018.

The NFL are in dispute with Wembley and are likely to take other games away from that venue rather than sign again.

I'm sorry mate but this isn't true.

It all hinges on planning permission. Nothing is signed.
We could well be being played to get a better deal for them at Wembley.

And I'm still to be convinced how 2 NFL games a year gives us significant revenue for our team. There are only so many hot dogs you can sell. Each visiting team will want a slice of the pie plus the NFL. And who pays the policing/stewards?

Obviously we won't know the ins and outs but we are looking at 3m to be sliced up. Hardly Brewsters Millions.

The benefits money-wise will come from sponsorship deals.

At least 2 NFL games, at the moment its 2 NFL match days. With 2 games on each match day, so while it says at least 2, its likely to be at least 4

Dude. Don't drink at work.

That's bad.
I reworded but at the moment there are 4 matches played in the UK, unless demand lowers which it isn't, thats not going to go down

It also opens up a new market for the NFL teams

This is interesting:
The design of the new south stand has been developed with a steel structure and simple fit-out, to optimise [ie speed-up] the construction programme for this element [ie phase] of the works....

I remember that I took a fair amount of abuse from, well everyone really, earlier on this thread by suggesting the proposed simple kop end might be more down to a requirement to build the final stand as quickly as possible rather than Levy's desire for a loud atmosphere as a priority - a priority over say another few rows of lucrative executive boxes and facilities.

Of course this was well before we knew about the retractable pitch, which almost certainly puts a limit on the weight of this stand. (Not that they suggest that here, though.)

So without actually revisiting my post which unfortunately probably says something slightly different, and while not implying that I know anything, which other posts prove otherwise, I would still like to take this opportunity to say yah-boo sucks.
Yah-boo sucks.

Nah. Like preserving a couple of buildings is more important than regenerating an area desperately in need or regeneration.

They've expressed concerns and can now feel like they've done their job but the train has left the station now imo. If they really had a problem they'd have had 'strong objections'.

with the gentrification of the rest of london going on, i can hardly see them stopping it here based on a moldy old brick or two. Money talks and i'd guess investors in the flats are probably all Tory donors as no one in Tottenham will be able to afford to live there

Away fan locations, looks to be North / East stand.

I would have thought they'd have tried to keep the away fans as much 'in the corner' as possible and had them spreading up before they spread out. In fact, I don't understand why the smallest allocation has them by the pitch instead of up in the gods. Seems an oversight to me. They should be designing a stadium with the away fans having the least prominent position possible.

I read something which said the special thing about English grounds is that away fans are usually quite prominent, and that contributes to the atmosphere. Whereas in foreign grounds they're always in ye gods and that detracts from the spectacle and atmos.

I do agree about the away support.

Am I seeing some sort of viewing area under the roof as well? Looks like glass panels to me.

Yeah, that and less chance of them lobbing cups and bottles of piss on the home support below innit...

Apparently that pic with the different roof may actually be an old pic that they forgot to emit from the plans.

Where are all these plans?

Also, when the whole NFL thing inevitably fails/ends, is there any way to renovate the stadium so the "NFL locker room" gets dug into to get more seating??

How would that work? The NFL dressing rooms are inside unless you mean remove them and make the interior floor plan smaller and adding more seats by going down

Its the same roof just not been rendered fully, the glass is not visible so it looks like a different roof structure but it is the same

A poster on Skyscraper city posted this. It our seating plan versus the Olympic stadium on football mode. Somebody else (can't remember who) worked it out at being 8.1 meters on the West, east and north side. And 5.1 on the south side. Versus 8.2 in the old design.
where's the running track?
I seen a couple people on here and SSC get confused but that is the seating plan of the olympic stadium in football mode with 54k seats. So the outline at the bottom would be the seats on the running track

Looked on SSC- there is an LED screen on the outside of the stadium, and there will be illuminated signing and club logos.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Eliminating the locker room, the turf, and the retractable pitch technology and moving the pitch down.

The stands are already so close to the pitch that you wouldn't have the space to fit anymore rows in.

And anyway, my thinking has always been that even without the NFL, this design change will pay for itself long term. Because while stadiums are incredibly popular with music artists etc on big world tours. They are limited in there use from July to mid August, simply because building a stage over a weekend destroys football pitches, limiting musicians (and other forms of entertainment) on when they can go on massive tours.

A sliding pitch removes that issue. Opening up a whole host of oportunities. So while the NFL is a good way of securing a bit of extra income (along with the added sponsorship) it's the long term commercial options the sliding pitch brings that'll make it worth while.

The Emirates has proven that there is a sweet spot in London that needs catering for. Wembley is massive at 90 thousand, the O2 arena is good at around 20. There is a gap there for a venue that sits in the middle of those numbers, and we are building one that can be used all year round.
