The latter would undo the former I suspect. Players already swarm all over refs when they have no ability to influence their decision but imagine if they knew the ref could change his mind and consult someone else? Carnage.

I think if we could get the first law implementated for a few years then it might work.
If refs wanted to sort that crap out they could in 1 weekend. Dish yellows out in fast order for dissent, it'll stop that very day when 1/2 the teams finish with 6 players on the pitch

I have always thought how brilliant it would be if as soon as a ref is surrounded by aggressive players who aren't the club captain he just started dishing out the reds like sweets. Would be bloody brilliant.

Rugby refs manage to keep control of more players in a more physical & intense game.

No excuse for it

Another thing I'd do to sort out the 'ego' problem is to have players wear positional numbers & no names on the back. No vanity numbers

Difference is the class of player. Chavs are always up for a good argument without listening to reason.

Joking aside I have no idea why the FA aren't interested in sorting this out considering it works so well in rugby. Too much player power in football I guess.

I like it but sponsors would never allow it. There is too much money in the game really to make these sort of changes.

What difference would it make to sponsors?

Dunno really but sponsors spend big money on player advertising and the players name is almost like marketing in its own right nowadays.

I've said previosly. Scrap the cl and uefa and introduce an fa cup style competition for all the top divisions in europe. The smaller leagues (luxemborg, malta etc... Can start in earlier rounds).
Ban loans of players over 21. They either become part of your squad or you sell. No hoarding of players or sell on fees.
Introduce to all premier league players that if they are relegated and are earning over a certain amount. They automatically recieve a pay cut of 50%. To a minimum amount (say 20k). You can also introduce a relegation release fee.
This would scrap parachute payments.

Have just e-mailed the Competition department in the European Commission and asked them to scrap the Champions League as it was creating monopolies. Will get a reply in a few days.

Don't worry it wasn't worded like the one to Borris or Pickles about the stadium (although a week after my e-mail Pickles did give us the CPO, coinkydink or not?) I didn't call them fat or swear.

I'd like to see a rule at underage level say U-14 & lower where you must have 2 players in the oppositions half at all times, you could have neutral zone where they wouldn't be penalised around the distance of the centre cirble if it is to collect a under hit pass or to dribble away from marker, I would penalise 2 consecutive long balls played by an underage team by giving a free kick to the opposition, also you must pass the ball forward within 3 passes or it's a free kick against you.
At 16 & above I would change the offside rule to where a new line is introduced on the pitch at 30 yards from goal & you can only be given offside inside it, also if your feet is in line with opposition your onside, I'd have all goals reviewed while teams are celebrating.. the goal stands while been reviewed if there's anything wrong with the last phase of play.. offside foul handball.. the goal gets cancelled.. same goes for penalties if the ref gives a penalty.. the player takes it & in the time it takes him to take it.. the penalty decision is reviewed.. if he scores & it was the correct decision to award a penalty.. it counts.. if it wasn't a penalty & he scores it gets cancelled.. the decision is only announced once the penalty has been taken & the phase of play ends, that way you cut down the delay time in game.
Players pulling shirts or holding before a corner is taken.. the referee can remove them to the sideline until the next phase of play ends & they can only rejoin the action when the ball goes dead. Any players diving or been abusive towards officials & the manager gets fined..if a manager gets 3 fines he also gets a touchline ban of 1 game.. if his players cheat again the manager gets 3 game ban & fined 3 weeks wages & as a last deterant if any managers team cheat over ten times in a season his licence to coach in England are taken away.

Might be easier just to play 7 a side with smaller pitches and balls.

Some sort of stopped clock for dead balls, eliminates time wasting and takes injury time out of an incompetent referees hands

cap all players wages at £100k a week, no one on earth needs any more money than this. This would encourage players to consider more than just money when moving to a new team, at the moment the highest bidder wins however if for example a player had 3 clubs that were offering £100k per week he wouls consider things like style of football, the manager etc more than they currently do. would put more passion and love back into the game I reckon.

if clubs like city and psg moan that this puts them in a disadvantaged position then they should give their excess money to charity :)

I like the Sin Bin used in Rugby. 10 minutes off the pitch for certain infringements. A yellow card and a 'Binning' for cheating or unsportsmanlike behaviour (as in diving, demanding a card, pretending to be injured etc.) might put a stop to some of the cheating which is blighting the game. The other big plus is that the team on the wrong end of the cheat gets some advantage immediately instead of some random future opponent.

Its good in theory but it would soon have a huge impact on the English game as its unlikely this would get adopted by all leagues and we would rapidly find ourselves having to change the rule back in order to "keep up" much like the RFU.

Oh I'd also like to see a rule where the ball has to be right on the fucking penalty spot.
