First of all - Friedel was great, both against City and United.
But where was Gomes today? Injured? On his way out?

Shouldn't he at least be second choice?

Um Friedal was great what you doing watching high lights fromm his blackburn days!!

Streuth if Gomes had let one of them in the media would be all over him. I actually think that Gomes would have saved 3 of those shots followed by throwing one in our net for good measure. Gomes would have come for half of the balls and been punching Kaboul and Dzekos lights out!

Cudicini is better than Friedal .. Friedal is past it I am sorry to day!!

Not really, was a liability at the end of the season dropping clangers left right and centre. Cudicini then came in and looked calmer and more assured and we looked better in defence (admittedly King was back too).

Now we have Friedel too who has come in and not done too badly, Gomes cant really have many complaints about being No.3 right now. If/when he gets his chance will have to take it.

I posted about this in the ITK discussion thread. I heard that he is not happy at being backup and he wants to play. Hes fallen out with the coaching staff.

I dont know if its true or not but I wouldn't be surprised if this is why he was left out.

Gomes would have saved at least 2 of those. Look again he does not flinch when he has to stop shots. Robinson would have stopped 2 as well. Friedal will not be our number one by end of season

Gomes is the best keeper at the club and should be No.1

I agree with this, but I have to admit Friedel has been really good for us. Would be gutted to see Gomes leave. Wasn't there talk of us offering Cudicini to some clubs recently? Would point to Gomes beeing seen as the backup ahead of Carlo.

at OT on monday in the warm up he looked a sad dejected figure even forlorn. i have a feeling he will be gone in January window

Doesn't he have only one year left on his contract? Bit of a waste having a keeper of his standards in the reserves for a year before he leaves for free, if that's the case. Maybe he's being left out until he signs a new contract? It's all a bit weird...

Gomes is too good to be a backup. I'd be out of the door if I were him too, this club is going nowhere fast. The knock-on effect will probably leave Sandro unhappy as he's relied heavily on Gomes to help him settle, not that Harry gives a shit because he won't be around to find out.

friedel wasnt great and he isnt great. he is safe, doesnt make mistakes so he doesnt stand out for looking suspect.

But he is not in the same league as gomes, 2 games 8 goals let in. i'm fairly sure gomes wouldnt have let in as much

Sadly we have decided to go for the keeper that makes few mistakes but also makes few great saves. Gomes should be first choice but we have a manager that doesn't appreciate him.

No he would have let in 9 as i doubt he would have made the save friedel made at OT when the score was 0-0.
