I really do think that we will take 3 points off of Stoke, and another 3 off of Bolton. In a couple of weeks we will find ourselves mid-table.

Winning those games will give our players a better mentality, it will breed confidence and will allow them to express themselves on the pitch which has been lacking since pre-season. These players have not turned bad overnight.

Yes we have tough games against Liverpool and Arsenal afterwards, but we showed against Chelsea that we can compete. I firmly believe that we will contest those games and the results will be tight. We are more than capable of taking points off them both.

It is still early doors, even though seven games in does sound a lot, but there are 31 games left (in theory 93 points left to play for), and who is to say that the club cannot go on a run to move up the table?

I simply refuse to believe that we are a poor team. I acknowledge that Ramos has not helped by rotating, changing formation etc. etc, but he needs to make his mind up and stick with the same team and the same formation for a few games and the results will pick up. If he doesn't, in my mind he is responsible for whatever happens at the end of this season, not Levy and not Commoli.

I really do think the tide has to turn. We have such a talented squad. Robbie and Berbs have gone - of course that is going to have an impact, but with the players we have, we will be too strong for a lot of teams.

Losing Berbs and Keane has affected us, like it would with any team, but Bent, Pav and Campbell will score goals, and in January it would not surprise me if we got an established name in.

I am not naive enough to think we will challenge for Europe this season. Losing your 2 main players would change any teams season. I just think we are in a false position at the moment, and in a month we won't even be mentioned (mainly becasue we will be mid-table mediocrity ;-)

If we win to Stoke I'm gonna get mega pissed and phone in sick the following day.....so I'm bracing myself for another week of sobriety.

Noone really feeling the positivity! Oh well.....;-(

sorry sparx - I think we're in a lot of trouble

there seems to be weaknesses and fault lines throughout the whole club

we can survive this and keep in the prem - but lose to Stoke, which is very possible and I think we'll get relegated - naturally I'll still be hoping and of course I have to stick with my 14th prediction, but lose to Stoke and relegation will be what I will be feeling - to avoid losing this game we'll probably need luck - in short supply ATM - good/great crowd backing (could happen) and for the players to play with fight and flair .. tall order

don't like saying all this - but the whole thing is very depressing ATM

i kind of agree with you, so far this season ive been behaving like one of those england fans i detest (the ones who think we are going to win big tournaments based on the fact we have some good players but seem to forget they rarely play well together). So every game other than Chelsea ive fancied us winning but i guess that was based on blind faith.

....positivity is slipping away!

I can see your point of view. I agree there are weaknesses. The club management is up in the air and unfortunately our strikers were sold without lining up appropriate proven strikers, but nothing else has changed. I think our defence is better, our midfield on paper is better than last season (yes we need a DM, but we did not have one last year)....

I too refuse to believe we are a poor team, but in reality right now thats just what we are, all over the fucking shop. Other than the Chelsea game ive seen nothing to give me any positive feelings. The manner in which we have performed and the way we have lost games all too easily without even really causing the opposition to many problems at their end, is very frightening.

I don't wanna put a downer on anything - I'll be in front of the TV cheering the team on Sunday -

but let's not kid ourselves - winning there will be a tall order (pun kinda intended :)

I'm not feeling at all positive I'm afraid. I will still be cheering the team on on Sunday (albeit from my sofa), but I'm expecting a draw or loss, as this is what we have become accustomed to in the league this last year.

When we can't beat Hull at home what makes you so positive we'll have 3 pts away at Woking, nevermind Stoke?

Not being funny, just interested.

On another day we wolud have sunk Hull City and got three deserved points. We didn't but luck in front of goal has a habit of swapping beds.

Its fair to say that even at this level of gelling if we had either Keane or Defoe still in the side we'd have probbaly won that game.

Exactly, I thought we played well against Hull but got unlucky. Our luck may change but it may not. As Andy Gray et al are always saying 'When you are down at the bottom you just don't get the breaks.'

I get this wierd feeling that our luck / pts tally will start to change after the Bolton game. All the pressure is on us vs Stoke and Bolton, because I guess most fans would say that we really should be walking from those games with 6 pts but vs Arse and Pool, we are the definate underdogs. We may well come out of those games with a lot of confidence built. Of course they may pummel us into the dirt but I'm trying very, very hard to find an inkling of positivity in myself.

Our best performance of the season so far has been at Chelsea, despite playing some very average sides. That's my thinking behind it.

I'm not feeling too confident about this one, not that I've been particually confident about many games so far. I think it'll be a draw, which isn't good enough really. I don't think I've ever been as desperate for a win as I am right now. As some have said already a defeat would leave me fully prepared for relegation at the end of the season.

Stoke 2 Spurs 1 and Spurs 1 Bolton 1 ... Relegation, I must admit I will be laughing if we do go down ( sorry I mean it, as I really do ont feel anything for this club anymore... I really pity those fans that waste money in these tight Economic times) I just want to see the reaction on Levy's face ... Sorry, its only a game and the way things are going at the moment ... I think I worked out in another thread that to achieve the 40 odd points needed to stay in the EPL, we can only afford to lose another 13 games.

[DC knows what I'm going on about - can't be arsed to find the thread right now]

Anyway, considering we have to play the Top 4 SEVEN more times, if we lose to Stoke, what many of us think would be one of our easier challenges (much like Hull at home  ), then we are in deeper shite than we are now.

100% argree with DC - if we don't beat Stoke relegation could realistically be on the cards.
