Vic
Royal - Romero - VDV - Davies
Bissouma
PEH - GLC
Solomon - Richy - Perisic

Those worried about rotation, Ange has confirmed that he will mix the teams for the upcoming games.

" We're going to need it. We're two games into a long season. We've seen other clubs having to cope with injuries and I'm sure at some point that's going to hit us. We need a strong squad and we've got three games next week. Three away games so we're definitely going to use pretty much everyone in the squad through that week. It's important to know that they're ready. "

Agree with your front three and your back five. Before Udogie went off today I probably would have kept Porro and Udogie as I would like to keep the back five playing together and getting used to playing with each other.

I would play Maddison, Lo Celso and Bissouma in midfield though just to see if Maddison and Lo Celso can play together. If you find early one they can’t then take one of them off and bring on Hojbjerg

I'd like to see us take both domestic cups seriously for once. Fulham won't be a pushover. Probably bring in Davies, Emerson, Skipp and Solomon without too much drop off. Maybe give GLC a run out too.

Bench Madders, we need to see who can take his role, and we know he can make an impact from the bench if things go wrong. Richy needs an opportunity to score, but Deki needs to be spelled to give someone else a chance, Solomon probably.

Forster

Royal
Sanchez
VDV
Davies

Skipp
PEH
Lo Celso

Solomon
Richarlison
Perisic

Bring on Madders, Son, Kulu, Romero, Porro etc if we are needing to after 60 mins but a similar B team to this looked good pre-season so let’s see what they can do.

I want to take the cups seriously but it’s also important to keep squad morale good across the season so if we don’t start some of these guys in this game they will never play and that doesn’t help anyone, also keeps our main players fresh for the next PL game.

The fact that he didn’t rotate at all today makes me wonder if Ange might be contemplating a complete or almost complete rotation against Fulham.

If he was to go complete that would mostly be from within the current match day squad, but there would be an interesting dilemma for the second centre back place and the possibility of Scarlett starting up front.

Silva has a touchline ban for this match for being booked in all 3 of Fulham's matches so far this season.

I’d prefer it if Ange doesn’t rotate too much. This is a tough away fixture and so I’d rather we went full strength and maybe just switched one or two. Hopefully there will be “easier” fixtures in future rounds should we progress through this, but we need to progress and take the domestic cups seriously. This trophy is definitely winnable

Full strength team please no resting players this club needs a trophy, no ‘let’s give a run out to such and such’ pick the best 11.

Ange has already said he is going to try to win this, and he is going to rotate in order to do that.

Will you make wholesale changes for the Fulham game?

Yeah we’ll make some changes. We’ve got some guys who are really keen to play and are working hard in training. And the way we play takes a lot out of us. It’s a short turnaround and also another game the following week. We’ll make some changes, but because we want to win the game. That’s why we’re making changes. Not because I want to give guys a game. Hopefully by making the changes we maintain the intensity and tempo and quality of our game.

I assume Bassey misses this after his sending off yesterday, but Ream must be back available. That leaves Diop and Tosin in central defence, and with Tosin supposedly off this window it will be interesting to see what happens there (if any truth in us signing him, then i doubt he'd play against us and get cup tied).

There was talk from Fulham fans that they'd really have a go at the cups this season after such a comfortable campaign last year, but they've failed to get players in so far, and the manager did have a habit of resting players in the cups last year so i wouldn't be surprised if he did that again given their small squad at the moment.

I'd be fairly confident we'll win this, even if we make a fair few changes. I'd be pretty surprised if Emmerson, PEH, Davies, Perisic, Gio and Solomon don't get starts, then it's just a question of whether you rest VdV for Sanchez, or whether you rest Cuti, and while i'd normally think you'd rest Cuti, he is looking a real leader these days and he came off after 11 mins in the first game, so if anything he's even fresher than VdV.

Like everyone else i desperately want us to take the cups seriously, but equally i absolutely think that you can't talk up everyone in the squad as being important (like Ange has done) but then play almost the same 11 every match - Conte did that and that is definitely not how you build squad moral. Change the line up AND get a result and that just reinforces everything the manager has said and it swells the belief in him with the players....and then you really are on to something.

I'd probably go:
Vic
Royale Sanchez VDV Davies
Skipp Hojbjerg Gio
Solomon. Richy Perisic

Strongest bench possible.

I would start Romero - as the skipper - and rest VdV.

But if Son, Madders, and Cuti are all rested, I would give the armband to Richarlison - just to see everyone's reaction...

Last year Fulham made 10 changes from their previous Premier league match and lost in the 2nd round to Crawley Town.

So perhaps probable we won’t be facing the strongest Fulham 11.

I'm thinking something like this with Romero as captain

Vic
Royal Romero VDV Davies
Skipp Hojbjerg
Solomon Gio Perisic
Richy

Go strong.
We need to win something and I'd like us the other take every game seriously.
We don't have any of their distractions so maybe one or two changes at the most.
