I think the point about his pace may be a good one, but dont forget, players shift positions all through their career. Campbell started his career as a forward, hudd started as a CB, and im sure there are more. Being a winger with no pace is a pretty big problem admittedly, but theres no reason why we couldnt shift him somewhere else IF he shows that he has other decent traits. No need to write him off as a bad player just because he currently doesnt have the best attributes to be a great winger.

I dont think pace on the wing is any issue. Beckham,Ginola, were never superbly quick.

And even in the modern era quick wingers can become a liability like lennon and walcoot because of there frustrating final ball.

Its all about the brain at the top level, Pedro, mata, silva, can all play as wingers or wing forwards and none of them are quick they just have a intelligent football brain.

He looks to have ability, it's just a question of learning how best to use it, presumably this has been his problem to date. Worth giving plenty of Europa League games and Carling Cup to and we'll see how he progresses.

He and Gio played in the same game but if didn't know you wouldn't know which of the two has 50 international caps.

Falque looked decent to me. Need to see him a bit more to form a proper opinion but didn't look out of place or lost and seemed to have a nice touch.

When I see the name Falque, I see the name FalQUE?!?!?!

He looks like an interesting player though. Especially in body shape and movement style. Plus, like all the youngsters that night, he showed an encouraging amount of confidence and proactiveness.

This thread is making me LOL.

Some kid, in his first game in a complete 2nd string team, playing in some hostile country.

Give me a fucking break.

I'd be LOLing as well if it wasn't so depressing.

GIVE THE GUY A FUCKING CHANCE PEOPLE.

God knows what the OP thought of Sandro after his first game.

Hi, this is the OP speaking

I thought Sando did well in his first game albeit for about 1 min, didn't he come in late into extra time for his first run in a Spurs shirt

In his second game he showed a very high work rate but wasn't as clinical as he is now.

At the risk of dragging this thread off topic - Sandro's first game was the Carling Cup game against Arsenal. And he was an effing monster.

As for Falque - it was an underwhelming performance but he should (and will) get another chance. He looked a bit 'head down' to me.

Falque was playing in front of Walker who was charging forward at every occasion, I would be surprised if he wasnt told to tone it down so that we werent exposed on our right flank. Even then he had our best [only?] 2 real chances of the game.

Tell me how many others on both sides could so nearly have bent that shot in, after cutting inside. Lennon would not have even tried.

Lennon would have tried, but would have been aiming at the linesman.

I can recall similar criticisms of Gareth Bale once upon a time.

Not comparing, just agreeing with the posts that say give the boy time to settle in.

You are comparing, but that's fine, because it's an appropriate comparison. :)
