Now that I've seen him play for Spurs, I have to ask why did we sign this guy, especially on a loan.

Is he an investment in our future ?

Does he add anything to our squad ?

He looked like an average player in our second XI team who had an average game against a team equal to a league 1 or 2 team.

Why exactly did we sign this guy on a loan, he adds nothing to our squad imo.

Apparently a loan to buy. He looked our best chance of scoring though. Neat on the ball but didn't really excel. Looking forward to seeing him once he has longer than 2 weeks here and plays with the others a bit more.

If he looks good this season, he's ours.

We've seen him one time and we have a thread, already? Give him time. While there are conflicting stories of his status with us, I think there an option to buy. So give him time to adjust to a new locale, a new club, a new set-up, etc.

Don't get down on him yet. After all, many of our best imports have taken time to adjust.

Rarely have players come in from other countries and blinded us with their brilliance immediately. Berbatov, Modric and Sandro weren't song-worthy until a few months, after all. I'd venture a guess that Davids was the last non-EPL player to make a quick transition and before him Klinsmann maybe. So give him time. He could be Asimovic or he could be the next legend. Most likely, he'll fall between the two

Probably need to be given more time but at the moment he looks average. Lets judge after a few showing.

Some people are to quick to judge. Did you see the way he instantly took the ball down second half prior to his chance on goal? He has class and its hard to play in a mish mash team.

It was great. I thought he did well with interchanging passing and moving and had nice touch on the ball. I think too many people were expecting him to be like Messi or the type of player that beats a man and is flashy. Unfortunately many people equate flashiness with being good but you could clearly see that Falque has some ability.

I think he'd be interesting in the team with better players around him, but as you say it's very difficult to make any judgements from a mish mash team and just because a player didn't stand out doesn't mean that they should be written off.

Yes. I wonder how many players from our current first team could have killed the ball from that long pass as he did.

This is his first competitive game with us, albeit comprising mostly of youngsters and only, arguably one first teamer (Corluka or Walker as our first choice RB). I'd give him more time and also lets see how he plays with our first team proper before we make any judgement on him.

This thread is making me LOL.

Some kid, in his first game in a complete 2nd string team, playing in some hostile country.

Give me a fucking break.

Sorry Twizzle but threads like this are ridiculous, he is 21 years old, just had his first game for us on a dodgy pitch in an intimidating atmosphere, also being surrounded by other younger players who were probably a bit nervous aswell.

Please can we stop immediately slating our players after ONE game, I think we all know he isnt going to be the next Ronaldo or Messi but he & Ceballos absolutely destroyed Kettering and last night he looked very neat & tidy and, as said above, he looked most likely to score for us.

Lets judge him at the end of the season when he has played 10-15 games!

Although he didn't set the game alight I thought he looked technically quite good and he wasn't afraid to go looking for the ball rather than being tied to his wing.

Obviously this is a ludicrous thread based on the conditions of the game but I think there was enough there to suggest he could be a useful member of the squad.

Hard to judge a left footer asked to play wide right......hence he kept coming inside......imo opinion there were a couple of more experienced players he rated in front of.....!

This is modern day football. In any other team but ours the left wingers play on the right, the right wingers on the left.

Only full-backs stay the relevant side usually, this is why we don't get to overlap as much as we could do on the attack these days.

Far too early to judge ANY youngster.

This.

I thought he showed enough signs of talent to suggest he might do ok with better players around him. But of course he didn't score a hat-trick or win world footballer of the year so he might as well just retire.

Makes you think: How poor are they that have not patience?

This thread is monstrous, however it was his dream, I suppose. But this denoted a foregone conclusion. And this may help to thicken other proofs that do demonstrate thinly that we'd have been better off putting money in Juve's purse. The pity of it.

Plus, more aptly, The Point of this signing is to cover for the fact that we do actually need wide players in the cups in order to save Bale, Lennon and Kranjcar who will risk serious injury if they play in these matches.

Hold on.....our actual first choice left winger/wing back played right last week with a performance no better than this kids today. Generally left footed players play left ...it is exceptional that they don't....the primary reason for this being that only 15-20% of players are lefties and thus they are needed left side!

You are absolutely right. He didn't instantly beat 6 players and didn't even score a hattrick!!! Pathetic.

Our team and management are a joke.
