Conte gets no credit from some for the recent wins because he isn't here yet the same people are happy to blame him when we lose. So fucking predictable.

Why didn’t we play Romero?
That stat is exactly what I mean by tribal bullshit arguments.

We didn't lose tonight because of the defence, it wasn't the defence that made us look about as threatening as a puppy, it wasn't the defence who lacked tempo and intent.

It's a nonsense stat when we have just been knocked out and outplayed by a second string championship side.

fuck it.

Bring back poch
OK my view on this, i do find it funny how we win a few games without Conte and its Conte Out as we can do without him, we lose tonight without Conte...and its Conte out, as its his fault.
How many weeks ago were people chanting 'ANTONIO' and 'Levy Out' at games?
Our MAJOR problem is strength in depth in the squad. As soon as you bring in Sanchez as rotation (who can barely stand up properly), and Moura (who sadly his best days are behind him) we struggle.
Myself, i am 50/50 on Conte, but unless we get serious money spent on the squad in the summer, it isnt going to matter who the manager is.
I agree in theory although I will say again, the team we put out tonight should win that game. Also Lucas was probably our best attacker out of the three which is saying something considering the other two were a 60 mil striker we only just bought and last seasons PL top goal scorer.

In the past we would often go out of the cups by playing a pretty ramshackle line up across the pitch, tonight really one would say only Sanchez and Lucas you really really wouldn’t want starting a PL game and one of those two out performed the others along side him.

If the wins are down to him, then the loss is down to him. But apparently the buck stops with everyone else.

Let me get that for you

Exactly my point whereby we have to look beyond who's in the dugout for answers to a longstanding malaise when it comes to winning mentality in Cups.

That's not to exonerate Conte/Stellini but it's far too simplistic to suggest getting Poch in with this team would yield us winning silverware!

I think we all agree that the squad needs upgrading. The question is, is Conte getting as much out of what he has as possible and the answer is that I still don't know. At one point today, Sanchez just fell over, for no real reason.

Fucking hell!

This is fair - he wasn't noticeably bad, but he's put him in twice in two away games next to Sanchez. Seems like a very unfair way to use him.
Now that I agree with. It was unfair on him Personally tho I have much larger concerns over Richy and Son at the moment. Both looked horrific tonight really.

I would like Conte to leave because I dislike the football - it’s just dreadful to watch. He’s on £15m and I haven’t seen him improve any player, whilst he is wedded to a single system. We cannot even change it up when chasing a game.

However, this can’t mask the fact the players aren’t good enough. How many cups have we exited with Dier, Davies and Sanchez playing together? Must be in double digits easily.

I have actually been astounded as to how bad Conte has managed this group this season. Nobody could have seen it coming and being as bad as it has. Levy is no fool despite what lots think. He knows the football is dire. I’d be massively surprised if Conte is offered a new deal. But equally I don’t trust levy not to fuck up the next appointment.

City there was a visible shift in usual Conte tactics to play Dier as more of a DM and a more aggressive 433 rather than his bog standard 523 defend for your lives. I don’t give him any credit for that as it’s not been seen in any game he’s been here this season.

Was there any acclaim for beating West Ham, and even that much for beating the current version of Chelsea? Seems like it was expected rather than not.

Yeah this. He can get all of the blame tonight from those that gave him the credit for the wins Stelini got without him. And vice versa. Don’t discredit Conte for wins in his absence but then place the blame on him for the losses without him.

yeah true, but i think our defence is so bad at the moment, you only have to take Romero out and there is noone else. i think Davies is better at LWB instead of Peresic and Dier is well, Dire.

Worth to add that Davies, Dier and Sanchez started 12 games in Premier League as a back three defence - 8 wins, 4 draws, 8 clean sheets and only 5 goals conceded.
