Lennon is an excellent player who has had a sub-standard season. I have no problem with us selling mediocre players, but Lennon is one of the best young English players to have come on the Premiership scene in the last 2-3 years. He's still younger than Jamie O'hara, isn't he? Part of the problem is that because of the excellent start to his career, whenever he has an average game, everyone acts as though he's crap, but he's not. He's very, very good.

I don’t think we should accept it. He is only young and has the potential to get better, and as the article said, he only cost 1 million, not in danger of making much of a loss. Perhaps if we brought in another right mid, or switched Steed to the right he would have a bit of incentive to pick up his game.

I thought his best game of the season was against the first leg of the carling cup semis. As soon as he realised he couldn’t out pace the guy playing left back for the scum (forget his name, begins with a T), he started to look for other ways to beat him, and he looked like more of a complete winger. Maybe this is his problem, he needs to stop relying on his pace and try to add more to his game.

And he needs to improve his end ball…

I think other areas of our team needs to be strengthened before looking at right mid.

He lacks another important thing..........a creative CM that can set him up for his running and find those angles.

These days Keano and Berbs has to move backwards to set some decent shit up.

Lennon also lacks the vision to make the runs!!

This is hardly an arguement to sell Lennon but more of a (quite rightful) arguement to get some other world class midfielders.

No way I would sell Lennon. We shouldn't have sold Carrick and we should not make the same mistake with Lennon. Spurs will get nowhere if they start a bad habit of selling the best youngsters.

Lennon has had a poor season, plain and simple.....not a good enough reason to cash in IMO. The boy is quality and has massive potential.

Which is why we need 4 new midfiels starters. Our current crop don't have the head for it. I think most of the games we've lost this season have been because we haven't been right mentaly.

Like Joaquin went to Valencia for €15mil and he wouldn't be better than Lennon?
i don't actually know much about joaquin.... so i don't knwo whether you are agreeing or disagreeing with me.

my pointis basically that in today's football, nobody would really bat an eyelid if henry had gone to barca for 5 mill, or 30 mill, because money is currently that messed up in today's football.

i'm a big fan of little lennon, but not so much that i don't think he has his price tag. it's just that from what i said above, i would only be happy to see him for for absolute gold mine. he has a lot left on his contract I believe.

He hasn't really progressed, in all the time he has been here.

Sorry, but I really can't see him improving enough, or being consistent enough, to warrant us keeping him here.

Ok, so I could be wrong (as could we all!), but performances to date don't suggest it.

we should develop lennon some more and also bring in more wingers of ramos' preferance. lets not forget he can play anywhere along the midfield in an offensive sense, as well as being combatative enough to do a job in temporary fullback situations. so lets bring in some more players and if lennon becomes surplus then so be it..yeah we would make more money selling him now but we are not about profit. we should be looking for competition for places between players and only selling players when they are no longer needed.

levy ballsed up the carrick situ and sold him, will he do the same with lennon?

for an example: we should not be looking to sell robinson

until we have seen with our own eyes for half a season that the supposed replacement is a consistent and better option.
+whatever players we buy and sell affects wether our best players stay at our club or not. so selling one of our best creative attacking players now would be a very very bad move, however if bent was to be sold at a loss of say, 5 million, no one would bat an eyelid, as he has only been a peripheral squad member.

I think long and hard. Then I'd probably take it. He hasn't really had a consistent run of form since the World Cup. That's almost 2 years. That's a long time. But then, he has about 10 years left of his career. That's an even longer time. He's not a £16 million player at the moment though. He hasn't been for 2 years. That's the point. Or maybe it's not the point. It's all very confusing. WHY DOES HE KEEP STOPPING WITH THE BALL AND PASSING IT BACKWARDS INSTEAD OF TRYING TO SKIN HIS FULL-BACK LIKE HE USED TO?! And if he doesn't do that, why does he keep trying to cross it early? I don't get that. Someone explain that to me.

16 million for Lennon now... of course!

16 million for Lennon like he has been for us a while ago... I'd have to think about it.

He's got to be one of the most frustrating players to watch. You know he has the talent and skill to beat almost any player but chooses, more often than not, to cut inside rather than beat his man and hit the line. I just wish he would go down the line more often and get the crosses in. That's another thing, his crossing needs serious working on aswell as his shooting.

£16M is alot of money for a inconsistent player. Before all the stat guru's come out and say that he is our main assist man, blah blah blah, I'm simply am stating what I am seeing home, away and in Europe following Tottenham. Going to the game and seeing the wider picture makes a difference to watching MOTD and football first.

On current form over the last 18 months I'd take Bentley over Lennon in a heart beat. At the very least Ramos in the summer needs to bring in some serious comp for our RW berth. Lennon cannot have it all his own way I'm afraid.
