Good young player, but the wrong type of signing for us at the time. We needed experience and got potential. I think he has similar attributes to Rio Ferdinand and can become a relly top defender. I actually think he wouldn't be a bad player to have been buying from Auxerre this summer (now we have Woodgate), with the future in mind. He's a great example of why building a team isn't all about just buying players with talent, but getting the balance right between youth and experience. It's the same with KPB and BAE. I think Levy has learned more in the last year, than in the previous 6 years.

Asolutely gutted about this.

Thought he looked a good defender, with a lot of potential. Yes he made a few mistakes, but his stature and confidence to want to play with the ball, thought he could be taught and moulded into a real good defender.

Just feel we have made a big mistake letting him go only a year into his career and pre-judged him too soon. Where I personally think he is better than Dawson and can be even better.

Unless there are issues with attitude or other off the field problems, I am a bit disappointed spending £6-8m on him to not give him a chance.

Makes a mockery of our youth policy imo.

I love the way people aren't even entertaining the idea that We would want him to stick around as back-up and to develope but that Kaboul himself wants first team football now and isn't paitent.

With things he's said about himself he's the type to have uber confidence in his own ablilty and thinks he's too good already to play a back up role.

Totally agree, was drafted into the 1st team too soon, and cost him his confidence and future at WHL.

Thought Ramos, a European coach who likes a player that can play football would of seen the qualities that he had and could bring out in him.

:clap:Spot on i think we have made a big mistake by letting him go and if King gets injured again we may regret it.

Would have loved to try him at def. midfielder, he likes the ball at his feet and can destroy the opposition, would also give him room for error as a last ditch tackle from the back usually results in a goal or a penatly a similar tackle from midfield won't do nearly the same amount of damage to us.

Granted, I am sure I am not the only person to think this and was probably tried out there in training and it just didn't work out, plus his passing is not good enough if you ask me but maybe with Hudd next to him he could be the ball winner then pass sideways to Hudd who can make the great pass forward??

I agree with Joey. I thought it would'be been better if we loaned him out instead of selling him. IT looks like he fell out with Ramos after saying all that stuff about him a couple of months back that's probably why he's being sold rather than being loaned out.

He may well have a big future ahead of him and go on to do great things (im not convinced on his potential but I wont dismiss it either)

However Ramos may simply not rate him, or his words in the Press (regarding Jol and winning the CC etc) may have angered Ramos who then thought he was not good enough to jusity keeping around and risking being a negative influence on rest of squad.

Someone like Berbatov could disrupt things behind the scenes yet possibly still be persisted with because of his undeniable talent and what he brings to the team.

Maybe his situation was evaulated and the likelyhood of him being a disrupted influence and having a negative effect weighed up against his potential to become a good player and have positive influence on squad.

Throw that in with a transfer offer that jusitfies letting him go and the decision would be easy if Ramos decided that the negatives outweighed the positives with young Kaboul.

Big mistake Kaboul is a great prospect and in a couple of years time i think we will see a 20mil player . Harry , M.O.N, AND Keane are very good judges of players, not given a chance new team, country and language pushed in the deep end, with Ledley being injured ,we should have done a loan move first , not to worried about our c/b need to get c/m d/m would love Veloso. Hope J Ramos gives Bent a chance before he thinks of selling him

It also might come down to who we can get in as another CB. There is no doubt we are looking to get results in the short term and may bring in someone who will be better equipped to help us achieve those results. There is certainly enough doubt over his attitude to go along with some doubt about his ability/potential that made a very generous offer from Sunderland too good to turn down.

Like many of you I too would have liked us to keep Kaboul with a possible loan deal to another PL club to reduce the pain of his learning experience to our team.

The problem is he wanted to go, he told his agent to find him another club and he bad mouthed Ramos. So unfortunately he has to go which is a big shame as like many of you have said I think he will turn out to be a very good player.

apparently according to Sky Sports News he wants an extra 24 hours to consider a switch to Sunderland. He said that he has family issues to sort out

The problem with Kaboul is in his head. He has the potential of a fantastic defender, unfortunately his ego has got to the superstar status before his ability has had a chance to catch up.

This is why he is going, and you can quote me on that.

Done.

Not sure how you can claim he has a big ego when I'm sure you don't even know him just a little bit. Silly to make such an assumption, even if you turn out to be right.

Flatters dear chap.

Would I say that if I didn't know it was true?

I'm not a poster who says things for the sake of it.

It's no assumption, it's true.

In my best Dr. Evil voice, for Mr. Kaboul Spurs would like 1 million dollars, (everyone laughs) I mean 1 billion dollars.
