Romero just switched off is all. He'll bounce back from that I've no doubt.

First game back, probably should have come off for Sanchez at somepoint as it looked a tired challenge rather than lazy.

Fulham worked hard today so you have to give them credit for that but Christ they rode their luck, how we didn't come away with four or five goals I don't know.

We need to see the Doc or Djed. Am
I in the vast minority thinking that Sess played very very well today ? Bentancur is so classy.
Sess was so much better in the second half. He was very frustrating in the first.

Was nice to get out of first gear today and there is so much more to come

We're literally a different team with 2 passing CBs in there. We can beat the press and actually get the ball to the forwards x5 more easily and frequently.

Think it's vital we always play at least one of Lenglet and Romero from now on (and ideally both). It makes the whole system click.

How can you tell we played well...... The match thread was only 42 pages at the final whistle.

What does that tell you about how vocal the negativity is compared to the positivity on here.

No I think he played well, I also think Emerson did well though which you apparently didn't?
I think he did well. But I donzmt understand the lack of rotation between him, Spence and The Doc when Perisic and Sess have both played games.

I think thats just indicative of life. People tend to moan more than say things are brilliant

Conte will definitely be in Ryan's ear about him allowing himself to be caught offside for Richarlison's goal, but overall it was a really good performance and the scoreline definitely doesn't tell the story of the game.
TBF, Fulham also made it quite easy for us. Looking forward to hear the CL hymn next!

Enjoyed the game today apart from not being clinical. Thought having our three CB’s being comfortable on the ball allowed us to play from the back and transition into attack with much more ease. Bentancur was my MOTM with richarlison just behind but all players contributed positively.
Good point about the CB’s. Whilst I think both Sanchez & Davies are good defensively, we were poor in possession against West Ham so good to know improvement came with the 2 changes today.
We clearly want to play out from the back so this could end up our preferred back 3. Bentancur makes a difference too because he provides an option; I’m sure Bissouma will be excellent too once he’s up to speed fitness and tactically.

Always the easiest way to see whether we've won or not. Just look at the match thread page count.

Very good performance overall. Would like us to be more clinical with the final pass/shot, should have scored a few more today and avoided the nervy ending.

I like the look of Lenglet. Not the toughest test no disrespect to Fulham, but he was solid and his passing range is brilliant. Played some excellent through balls.

Well both Sess and Perisic had the bulk of Conte's pre season. Peresic a bit less and so Sess started the first few games of the season. How much pre season did Spence and Doc have compared to Emerson?

There's a few people conspicious by their absence

Much better performance today. So much more aggressive when out of possession, and while Son is still not at his best, he was much sharper today which made a huge difference.

Happy. Think if you’d offered any of us 14 points from the first 6 games we’d have snapped your hand off. Now bring on those European nights.

Seems we are very tightly wound generally. I thought generally very good performance. Some opinions I really Donzmt understand to the extent it makes me question if my own judgement is poor like Ryan. But we are still growing as a side and developing snd it is fun to watch with the knowledge that we will improve.

This is what I was saying on Wednesday.

Some were saying that our midfield is the issue, it isnt just that.

With Lenglet and Romero, you have two players who can draw in the opposition and build patterns. They also have the ability to draw out the opposition and then ping balls into the front three.

Sanchez and Davies have severe limitations with this.

So even if Bentancur had played Wednesday we would have had similar issues because the defenders can't work the space or attract the opposition.

It's why Bissoumas performance shouldn't be judged to harshly until he gets that benefit too. He will be able to play his natural game, knowing he has competent ball players behind him.

Yes, much better in every aspect except for the few seconds of defending for their goal. Apart from a couple of good saves from Hugo from deflected shots we didn't give them a sniff.
Thanks for the update hopefully moving forward the team improves so maybe I misjudged it so well done to the team.
