Well what's the hold up in gettin him being as its been lined up for ages anyways..? Also there isn't any guarantee that wel start making signings when he arrives. Could be a long painful summer for us fans! Our motto 'audere est facere' should be noted and applied by levy in the transfer market!!!
On a positive note, a very positive note, the worst defender ever seen in a spurs shirt has been released! Thank god! AVB having Gallas as his first choice centre back at the start of the season gave me a pretty poor opinion of him but he did change my opinion in the end! Anyway pretty sure everyone's glad Gallas has gone!
Bentley has also been released. While he has been a flop I feel he could have offered us back up in wide positions that we lacked at times this season

"Realistic" First XI:
Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Sandro
Dembele Pjanic
Bale Villa Lamela
Backups:

GK: Friedel
FB: Naughton/Smith
CB: Dawson/Caulker
CM: Can (Loan)/Holtby/Sigurdsson/Carroll
WF: Townsend/Dempsey
F: Adebayor/Kane

Total: 24+Other U21's from the Youth setup

Sell/Release:

William Gallas 0 -60k p/w
BAE +£8m -50k
Scott Parker +£4m -60k
Jake Livermore +5m -20k
Tom Huddlestone +£7m -25k
David Bentley 0 -60k
Gomes +£1m -40k
Aaron Lennon +£13m -50k
Jermain Defoe +£8m -60k

Total: ~£46m generated from sales and ~£425k off the wage bill, ~£21.25m every year.

Buy/Loan/New Contracts:

Emre Can (Loan) ~£0 +10k p/w
Miralem Pjanic -£15m +60k p/w
Erik Lamela -£20m +50k p/w
David Villa -£12m +130k p/w
Gareth Bale +60k p/w to ~150k p/w
Total: ~£47m spent on transfers and ~310k added to wage bill, ~£16m every year.

Grand total of £1m fee expenditure and £5m per annum saved on wages.

Best I can do at this game.

I like that a lot, perhaps lacking another back up forward or maybe a LB but i'd be very happy if that was to be our business. You could also swap Pjanic for Hernanes and Lamela for Bernard too.

He really isn't though is he? played poorly at times last season but also had some good games, Man Utd away he was immense, saved us on numerous occasions in the second half, has also been pretty decent in previous seasons.
Considering he came in on a free i would say he has served us ok.. you obviously never saw Gilberto, Rocha and Thelwell, they were poor..
I would rather have given game time to Pritchard than Bentley to be honest..

I saw them all and none gave as bad a performance on basic things that I have seen Gallas give on several occasions. Maybe free but I imagine he has been on high wages. Just think he's really a poor player but funny that I did use to think he was good when at Chelsea

More realistic than my sig:
Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Sandro
Dembélé Holtby
Bale--------------------Villa
Adebayor
GK- Friedel
FB-Smith, Assou-ekotto
CB- Caulker, Dawson
CM- Paulinho, Livermore, Carroll, Sigurdsson, Emre Can, Luongo
WG- Townsend, Dempsey, Pritchard
ST- Cornelius
Sigurdsson can play as a left winger. Villa can play as a striker.
In:
Emre can £0 loan to buy £5m. wages £15k
David Villa £12m. wages £125k
Andreas Cornelius £3m. wages £20k
Paulinho £15m. wages £70k
Bale new deal. wages up to £130k from £90k.
£30m total. wages £270k p/w
If we found a suitable central midfield player for around £10m (Anderson, Mccarthy?) we could sign them and possibly get £4m or so for Livermore too.
Out:
Gallas free. wages £60k
Bentley free. wages £50k
Naughton £3.5m. wages £25k
Huddlestone £6m. wages £25k
Parker £4m. wages £60k
Defoe £6m. wages £60k
Lennon £12m. wages £50k
Gomes £1m. wages £50k
Yago falqué £4m. wages £15k
£36.5m total. wages £330k p/w
Net spend: -£6m -£60k p/w.
With these signings we strengthen whilst actually making £6.5m in theory. Levy take note. If only it was this easy in real life.

That's because he was an excellent player at his peak, i think you have done him a disservice to his time wearing our colours..

No not 3 im 2 and a half. and remember you've got to put into consideration where we were then (mid table team for the most part) and where we are now (fighting for CL) and he just ain't good enough for that as the game against inter showed just how poor he is now. And to be honest we looked vulnerable at the back in the Europa league throughout, IMO down to the fact Gallas was normally at the heart. If you watch him more closely he is always out of position, slow to react, loses his player far too easily, slow to turn, has lost pace in general. Would of been better playin caulker more often than Gallas and saving the wages

He has been poor at times this season, i stated that, what is in question is your statement "the worst defender ever seen in a spurs shirt....

I'm going for a new realistic XI for next season.

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Perreira
Sandro Dembele
Lennon Bale Bernard
Villa
Probably only around £35m to get those three in. If we can claw back £15m in sales, will be a good job.

GK - Lloris (Friedel)
RB - Walker (Naughton)
CB - Dawson (Caulker)
CB - Vertonghen / Kaboul
LB - Shaw / Vertonghen (Fryers)
DM - Sandro (Big Tom)
CM - Dembele (Carroll)
CM - ??? (Bernard)
RF - Bale (Lennon)
CF - Villa / Damiao (Defoe)
LF - Victor Fischer / Villa (Townsend)

Just dont know who to have in that 3rd midfield spot!? Need to be top top quality with experience but not too old, for us to progress! Think Fellani is even more unlikely now took him out my team. Would say thiago alacantra from barca as he's reported to be considering a move (villa could persuade him to join him!) but I know it's my wishful thinking and again a transfer is unlikely... Got Bernard as back up as feel he will be a great player and possibly better than the overated modric, but south Americans tend to take a while to settle into the English game and as he is also a little lightweight ATM I feel this will allow him to slowly blend into the team and build his strength, confidence and learn the language and then he can be real class! Fischer for Ajax is a player that I believe will be at the top of the game in a few years with teams already mooring him out we need to act quick and get him in. The fact that villa would be able to play either centrally or wife this would allow both Damiao (just get on with it and sign him!) and Fischer to climatise to the squad and also gives us options. Defoe would mainly be an impact sub and used in cups and Europa or as second striker in a change of formation. If this isn't possible (Fischer signing) ibrahim affely would be a quality signing... As said before shaw would be great signing as our left back but as he is young I would also have jan play left back at times, also allowing for our 4 top centre backs to be kept happy! ( we hope as losing any of those 4 would be a travesty!)

Think up and coming but proven to an extent, young players are the way we have to go as although they could cost up to £20 mill, we will get a lot of time from them and also have resale value that older players don't have aswel as lower wages, we can't compete for transfer fees and wages for top proven players with the billionaire owner clubs are buying. Just look at moutinho who we missed out on in jan because of time (who would be an amazing player for us) he's now gone to Monaco for £30 + mil (I believe?) and ridiculously high wages I'd imagine come with this! How can a well run team ever match this!?

Any player not on my list (other than youngsters that haven't been in the test team squad this year) will be sold. Yes this includes rose, benny, Parker and adecrapor amongst others...
This gives us a 23 man squad ( with the unknown cm) of both experience, potential and youth and importantly also I think is that there are 12 British players! As aswel as being important to me as we are an English team after all, the rules always changing means stricter domestic player requirents in both the prem and European completion will soon be implemented.

*just realised I've forgot Dempsey. Don't think I'd wanna let him go as he's got a knack for getting goals (despite doing much lol) but if we get all those players (unlikely but would be amazing) then we would probably have to...

Cheers comments welcome!

if fm was real life then i'd sign eriksen, bernard and villa. they'd probably cost £40m between them but some can be recouped from sales .... and besides, it's about time we had a positive net spend window. i expect them to end up at other clubs though.

This is assuming that Michael Carrick doesnt think Moyes can bring the title back to Old Trafford, and wants to play for a club chasing honours; Modric wanting to get one over on Mourinho, who wouldnt play him for Real Madrid; and Bentley is available on a free, worth a punt? (y)

I like where you're coming from here, but unfortunately theres no way on earth we'll get fees like that for those players. If we manage to get anything approaching 8million for Parker or 11 million for Hudd then I'd be gobsmacked! All the fees in bold need halving IMO, with the possible exception of Townsend, who I think we should be looking to keep hold of anyway.

Come 1st July we need to hit the transfer market with a bang. We need to get deals done and no waiting for last gasp attempts as next season is piviol IMO. We are so close to the top 4 and we just can't let that slip again next season.
