As I say the content is down to the club themselves to sort out, Spurs Extra is my fave feature too but they don't do it often enough. I'll make sure they are told that though.

As far as style goes, I always thought it was quite nice and in all honesty we will never be at a stage where 100% of fans love the design, it's just not possible, after all, we all like different things right, be boring if we didn't!

I just find it clunky, far too busy, and a little unimaginative. Something like individual player page has no style. When you click on a player on the squad page, why not do something like a little Flash or HTML 5 video opening and the player walks to camera like those Sky ones when they do the team sheet?

I know the club doesn't care about slick style, as long as it is a revenue generator, but stuff like that makes a difference to fans. Then again some of the other PL clubs' ones are much worse. The Liverpool one looks like it was designed on Paint. Citeh is by far and away the best looking one I have seen though, but I guess they can throw the most cash at it too!

Seconded.

Some clubs do a bit of basic videoing of their Academy matches and stick it on their sites for free. That would be dandy.

This. Of course that could mean what little talent filters through our academy goes on public showing

Maybe putting the Spurs XI games up for viewing though?

I would like to see in the first week of a transfer window the headline "We have signed a top class striker and Dm" oh no wait thats not our website is it its all the tops clubs.

Failing that the headline "Spurs fail again on the last day to bring any one in" now thats more like it.

There are some players in the academy/reserves who have literally no coverage. I remember seeing Simon Dawkins has resigned recently, nothing on the website. And he's regularly playing XI matches. Same with Luongo in the academy, I believe. Basically no mention apart from match reports. Surely they're actually our players. It's all too vague.

wow how long have you got?

the ticketing system is awful, particularly the new one which has weird log in issues.

turn 'latest ticket news' and 'ticket office today' and 'buy tickets' or whatever it is into one single page and link.

get rid of the clutter on the main page... there is WAY too much going on.

add a fixtures button as a main button on the top (where the yellow ones currently are).

make a single button to make all news in a simple chronological list accessible and add search fields by month/year for news, as well as possibily categorising news.

i could go on. our official site is horrible.

OK. Well if not that, make their pages retro, and the photo like an old fashioned football trading card. Something to make the site visually interesting. At the moment it is just dull, and ugly.

Much improved proposal.

JonnySpurs - if you're going to pursue this kind of suggestion, do you think you'd be able to put together a few different 'test' versions demonstrating different ideas and ask for feedback and votes?

I'm sure it goes without saying, but all changes should meet with accessibility best practice for screen-readers etc too. I'm teaching you to suck eggs there I'm sure, sorry. It's an important aspect that too many web designers ignore though - bit of a pet peeve.

PS Johnnyspurs. I hope you are not pissed at my comments on the site. Generally I think it is pretty good, and I really appreciate the consultation with us on this forum over the redesign. Good work fella...

Afternoon Fellas!

So just a quick post really to ask what kind of things you would potentially like to see on the official website in the near future?

We're due an update, re-design and just general overhaul so anything that you had maybe thought of recently, now would be the time to tell me so that I can put it forward and possibly see it come to fruition!

Let me know!

Jon

Ticketing section and the one hotspur stuff, such a nightmare to use.

Sounds good, I'll put it forward.

Don't worry though, I'm not the one doing any of the work and I didn't design the current site. I don't even work for the company that do, I'm just doing a bit of research on their behalf so that they can produce the best possible website that meets all our needs :)

In all honesty guys it's virtually impossible to satisfy everybody as we all have different tastes but there's obviously a lot of complaints about how slowly the shop navigates and the ticketing system too so even though that is not something we can control, I'll make sure they let the club know that it needs serious improvement, hopefully they'll listen!

I'd love to be able to provide that for the fans, including myself, but I highly doubt they'd have the time and resource to be able to do it unfortunately.

Plus it seems that the club like to make the decision themselves on the site and have not pursued a voting system on different test versions before which in theory would be possible to do.

Needless to say though there is not just one agency pitching for the next version of the website so that also obviously plays a big part in not being able to get a fans vote on which is best. You'd have to contact the club directly with the suggestion and hope that they liked the idea of doing it. I wouldn't get your hopes up though!

Already got that one bud

Thanks again guys for all the feedback, keep it coming if you think of anything else, I'll make sure they see what you've suggested.

Hey JonnySpurs

I've mirrored this on Coys so you can get as much feedback as possible.

I'll drop you a line later
