Tarkowski is a great defender and has the bonus of being homegrown.

This is the type of signing Conte would make that would raise a lot of eyebrows, but in time he would be considered a shrewd signing.
Look I rate him, think he'd do well with better players around him. Just like you say isn't a sexy signing and he's 29 . Wouldn't be against it personally tho

He'd probably be our best defender ngl

Just goes to show how badly we've regressed in central defence since Toby/Jan left.

That article only links Tarkwoski as 'Tottenham have been long term admirers' of him. Yet fail to consider that Paratici and Conte have only been here a few months.

Should offer Brighton Doherty and Rodon for Lamptey who is back to full fitness and whose final ball is better than Emerson
I said this other day and got shot down. He was brilliant verses Leeds and came on and created the chance to draw the game last night. Very good at going forward.

Jeez, did i miss something a lot of suggested targets have been lowered a lot in expectations. From Vlahovic, etc to Ings, Bamford, Solanke and Perisic. See we started early lowering our ecpectations ?
Vlahovic ,De Jong, Barella, De Ligt and really try to get them in.
This is a wishlist page
Italian football on the whole is like Barcelona = Skint

Love his aerial ability in defensive , attacking set pieces and crosses in general. Also, seems comfortable bringing the ball out of the back and would be solid option in a Conte back 3.

Not aimed specifically at your post, just prompts my thought process.

We don’t need sexy signings, we need efficient players who actually turn up every game and aren’t complete pussies / cowards / weak mentality like quite a few of our current lot.

But if they're all that and sexy too that'd be alright wouldn't it?

This is the classic example of misleading stats due to play style. He looks like a monster defensively with his blocks and arial numbers, but they are so skewed by the enormous pressure Burnley invite on and the fact they play so narrow and allow teams all the width to put balls in - which he does clear to be fair.

But equally, his pass completion percentage looks abysmal, but it's skewed by the role he's asked to do by Dyche which is hit massive hopeful balls up to the strikers to create second balls/knockdowns. And those passes aren't counted as 'progressive passes' because they're essentially hit and hope. But that is why his shot creating actions number is similar to Dier (who also plays the long balls for us). The fact he can pass and is willing too means in our system his numbers would be better.

Basically, he isn't as good a defender as the numbers suggest, and he's better on the ball than the numbers suggest which averages him out to be... well pretty average really. There's a reason he's 29 and linked with teams like Newcastle. We can do better.
