Yeah a top drawer winger is really needed especially if Son stays central which I hope he does. Would be hard to get in January though as would another AM, but there may be a loan option. Early days but Solomon really doesn't impress me.

Interesting that Orban has been really struggling this season. Only 2 goals in 7 league appearances and has been coming under some criticism from the manager. He has even been benched a few times. Obviously should in no way write him off but it does display how rough he is.

I think the Orban enthusiasm died down about a week before the end of the transfer window, when a full game clip was uploaded on YT and someone posted it here. It was quite the contrast to the highlights we'd seen of all his goals. Suddenly all us expert scouts of the Belgian league, myself included, mentioned him a lot less.

Could turn into a Berahino situation. So close to a dream move and when it doesn't pan out the player can't knuckle down and start losing his way. Will be interesting to follow his situation.

Probably moot at this point but I've been tuning into a lot of Bundesliga matches and would pay whatever fee for Boniface - think he's going to be fantastic. He's more built for PL football than Orban in my opinion. Funny though - you could pay 100m+ for Osimhen for a "sure" thing. You could pay 60m+ for the next "sure" thing in Boniface. Or you could pay 30m+ for a potential future star in Orban. All Nigerian too, wild.

Personally having watched him a few of times last season I was never completely convinced. I said as much at the time. There is no doubting his natural ability but the lack of training had me incredibly concerned. i wouldn’t wright him off but he’s going to need good coaching to get to the next level. I would have (and still do) much preferred Marcos Leonardo if we were looking for a young forward.

Obviously now we have Veliez, and Son essentially being our main no 9, im not so sure where we are with our striker search but I’m also not convinced Richy will stay beyond the season.

We need to go balls deep for Ollie Watkins this summer

Contract up 2025. Will score shit loads for us

Young and HG. Think he would be better than Toney

Actually thought he was younger but he is 27 so prob not the smartest move
We don't need either. It's very clear how we are going to play and neither suit that. It's a quick footed fox in the box we require not someone to lead the line.

Which is why Marcos Leonardo might be a very good option if we are looking for a young forward. Hes similar to Lautaro in many ways who’s one of the very best fox in box strikes around at the moment. Obviously we need to see how Veliez does but Leonardo could be an interesting option if we aren’t looking for someone established.

On a side note Martinez is having an insane season, already on 9 goals. Shame he’s not a viable option for us.

Honestly that might be good if he is talented but rough around the edges. Like Bentancur and Deki, players who previously well thought of before Juve, talented and hard working players not in the right system, having a sub par season that need a new team/change of scenery, manager that believes in them and lets them play the way they can, all for a bargain price because people think they're meh and written them off. I don't know how good he'll be, maybe he was having a purple patch like Michu and won't reach those heights again. However we all know how big a difference really good coaches and great team energy can make in a short amount of time - for individuals and the team as a whole. Plus there were a number of things saying he was thought of highly and the scouting team have actually been good at identifying talent so I might actually believe that.

I feel like I've entered the twilight zone saying that, something's gone wrong in the world when you trust your club's scouts

If we could somehow get Scarlett playing like Jermain Defoe did, that would be perfect for this team. He's not getting a lot on mins at Ipswich yet though - hope it works out for him!

An interesting one for me, and I haven't watched much of Luton or this player, but I see that Alfie Doughty is creating the most chances per 90 according to a PL official post I saw on Instagram.

I went to FBref and see that he's currently 5th in the PL for key passes (Fbref's version of chances created):
1. Kieran Trippier
2. Bruno Fernandes
3. James Maddison
4. Dejan Kulusevski
5. Alfie Doughty
6. Julian Alvarez
7. Bukayo Saka
8. Eberechi Eze
9. Pedro Neto
10. Phil Foden

He's been playing as a left/right wingback this season but during his career has played as a CM, fullback, right or left midfield, left winger, and CF (for a match lol). In a list where we've been linked with some of the names like Eze or Neto for big fees, he's performing for a bottom of the league side, is HG, and only 23.

I think he could be a shrewd signing to replace someone like Ben Davies or an alternative to Conor Gallagher and just be the utility type squad player.
