Actually his debut was against Bolton where he gave away the stupid free kick that lead to their goal.

The Arsenal game almost made up for it, but not quite.

exactly TTT

once again there is an absolute gulf between people on here like myself who see wining a trophy as paramount, and can't even begin to see how a chance of 4th can rival the certainty of reaching an FA Cup finalif we beat pompey

this game is the be all and end all of our season ATM

win that then worry about 4th

but win that first

to take pompey lightly is to play a very dangerous game

by all means if wilson's game is being hindered by 9 yellows then Harry needs to talk to him

what's his priority? cos if it isn't winning the game v pompey I'd rather have another player on the pitch

this isn't a criticism of wilson BTW -

my guess is he'll be desperate to get to an FA Cup final - but it#s a matter of clarity

my suspicion is that his injury hindered him more than the 9 yellows v sunderland - but I'm just a punter guessing

I'm not quite as black and white on this as you but I defo agree with some of your points.

Finishing 4th ABSOLUTELY rivals winning the FA Cup because as nice as it is to win a trophy, it's largely forgotten about within a week or so, maybe not by us but by everyone else. 4th place brings with it a whole new era for this club, more money, better players and possible Champions League football, it can take us from a very good 5th, 6th place team to potential elite status if we get it right. A cup win can't do that.

The game is not the be all and end all of our season, should we even win it, we'd still likely have to play Chelsea in the final which won't be easy and even then, the league has to be our bread and butter, it has to take top priority, this season more than ever.

I think we can win the game without Wilson but I never like to see him out of the side so I agree that if he's in it then he needs to be in it mentally too, which I'm sure he would be.

I fully agree that to take Pompey lightly though is a cardinal sin and absolutely stupid more over. This is the biggest game they'll play a long time depending on how things go for them after relegation, there's no doubt they'll play their hearts out and an upset is still totally possible.

Bottom line with Wilson is that he's managed to avoid that booking for like 5 or 6 games now or something so I'd like to think he can keep his composure for one more, play him Harry!
