Andy Barcham?

Tomas Pekhart?

Simon Dawkins?

I've heard very good things about the first 2 - there was an article about Barcham recently. Also I remember Pekhart doing well for the young Czech team last summer.

It's be great to see some Academy players given a chance to be in the squad now that there's a potential spot....

Haven't heard too much about Dawkins (or Radwan Hamed for that matter) recently...

Radwan had collapsed last year due to ? heart problem or something. Nearly kicked the bucket. Not sure he's backyet.

i think dawkins is quite highly rated at spurs. i seem to remember that he had an injury, but is now recovering and playing well.

pekhart is struggling to really make a mark in the reserves after tearing under 18 defenses apart

and barcham is on loan

Just a thought. But was it Ramos who turned Baptista from a CM in to a top striker in spain?

KPB is of a similar ilk to him, maybe he'll get a few games there.

I don't think Baptista played under Ramos so we can't give him credit for that (sadly).

And KPB isn't like Baptista, other than being strong and black, the same could be said of Sol Campbell, Emile Heskey, Mike Tyson etc. Don't really think that is going to happen.

I think we may play one upfront, with two attacking players behind, forming an arrow.

I thought this too, but when I checked it out it was the previous coach who converted Baptista.

I think you're on the right lines here. If we're unlucky and pick up two striker injuries, I suspect we'll switch formation - either to a Dutch 4-3-3 or a Spanish 4-2-3-1. Both formations effectively mean a lone central striker with an ACM, and we have several candidates for ACM: Boateng, Taarabt, Steed, Rose, even Gilberto and the Hud.

Or Juande could bring someone in on loan - for EPL games at least.

Do we really need one?

No. Gone are the days (at least for now) where we have to accommodate 4 strikers who really should be Prem starters.

Ramos has a dynamic enough squad and enough tricks up his sleeve should we run thin on strikers.

I thought the transfer window looked great for us offloading some crap and getting some defensive cover but we all now need to pray the front two do not get injured otherwise our season will nosedive.
We can hardly say the likes of tarabat is a centre forward type player
i think the only reason we kept Bent is it would be a kick in the teeth for comolli who bought him

If berbs or keano gets injured it's time to worry. imo pekhart is the man to step up.

Not because he's been one of the most prolific goalscorers in the EPL over the past two seasons, then.

Some people really do break me up.
