We all know that we are currently in the midst of an exciting period with regards to our youth players coming through. A good case could be made for as many as 10 players to potentially become first class internationals, even at a glance.

But who do we think has the brightest future?

I personally think Josh Onomah looks like an exceptional talent. He is strong, agile, quick. Hes composed in possession. He is not scared to commit players even through the middle of the park. If he has goals as well, then wow.

Pritchard for me, already looks the type of player that is able to single handedly influence a game. Onomah, CCV, and Alli are not far behind, which just shows what fantastic youth we actually have

Bentaleb but only when he has a suitable partner and or we get a new formation for Christmas.

Cool idea for a thread. The beauty of this is that there are so many viable options to choose from.

I went for Alli simply because I think he shows a level of game maturity that is remarkable for someone his age.

With that said though, I genuinely believe that Onomah, Winks, Pritchard, Oduwa, Walker-Peters, CCV,
Azzaoui and Edwards have the potential to be regular first team players for us.

I don't think I've seen enough of any of them to really know.

What I do know though, is that I really really like Winks. Don't think he gets anywhere near enough chat from the youth watchers. He seems very good.

Why is not Eriksen an option? 2 years back when we signed him, I was a level headed optimist, not expecting him to set the league on fire. 2 years later, I think that pretty much sums him up. However, looking at his best moments specifically, I'd say his potential is pretty high. Whether he'll reach it at Spurs ...

I think he needs to evolve his game this very season. No excuse, he must show more consistent performances on a high level. I think he needs to bulk up a bit, muscle-wise, he is still a bit light. Eriksen has had ups and downs, but I think he can come a long way from last season.

Picking one of the younger ones can be trickier. You never know who will stagnate until it's there right in front of your eyes.
But it's Onomah & any one of the CMs for me.

Agreed. there was a nice moment in last night's game where he collected the ball on edge of our box, skipped past someone and then burst out into midfield. Neat and tidy skill, great control. I get the impression that Poch really rates him.

I think he's been very highly rated since Redknapp was here hasn't he? His name has been around for a long long time. And as much as Onomah seems to get the fuss, I think Winks looks the most likely to get regular minutes for us sooner.

The great thing looking at that list is the amount of real potential talent there is there.

I could pick any 1 of them and I would bet money that at least 4 of them will be 1st team regulars for us.

I would really like the club to get a couple of real "been there done it" senior pros for this bunch to look up to.

Yeah I think you're right. I think he could be our James Ward-Prowse in the same way that he came through so young and is now quite well established.

Alli looks like he could become the best player of his generation in England at the very least. It's a tribute to the academy that we have the likes of Pritchard and Onomah who look as if they'll be in or around that same level. We have to keep them all together!

I want to see what Veljkovic can do in the premier league too, the rest are maybe a bit further behind in their development but in a few years it will be interesting to see how we line up.

It would be so cool if one day the bulk or our starting 11 is made up of these kids. It's all well and good making nice signings but I think it would be hugely satisfying to know that we're one of the only clubs in the league that is really driven by it's youth setup.

I think we'd also be really respected by other fans and pundits alike if we can pull it off.

Appreciate it's optimistic but you never know.

Chris Miller (WindyCOYS) absolutely loves Veljkovic. He raves about him all the time on Twitter but he's concerned that he doesn't have enough drive and work rate to fit in Poch's system or for Poch to even rate him.

I dont know the lads name, but I watched a 16 yo playing in midfield last season. i think the game was from the England training centre. He looked the real deal. Black lad with dreadlocks?

That's interesting, I was thinking the other day that there must be a reason he's not been given a chance here yet. If he's good enough though, hopefully he'll break through even if that is true about Poch.
