What's the fuss about Tuchel? Never heard much about him.
Well if Jupp Heynckes states that he is destined to be Bayern manager one day, is good enough endorsement for me. Through in the fact he done the double over Van Gal at Bayern, tactically taking him to the cleaners.
The real question should be why do people want Frank De Boer because if they thought we played a high-line under Villas Boas, then they haven't seen anything yet.. our CB's will be in opposition half, total kamikaze football & why Ajax do nothing in Europe, there one-dimensional just like De Boer. There's no chance in hell FBD will sort our defence out, we might even get worse in that department, if you ask me Ronald Koeman is far more tactically aware than De Boer at least he knows how to put a balanced side out.

I think Martinez should be removed From the options as it is never going to happen

Apparently (based on odds) it's between FDB or Pochettino with Thomas Tuchel way out at 28's, Moyes is in third place.

FDB anyone?

he surely can speek english, is an intelligent boy.

And another fact: Developed Lewis Holtby very very good. In the best times at Mainz for Tuchel he had Szalai, Schurrle and Holtby up front and they were really good

they celebrated always like a band, was pretty funny time
He also helped develop Khedira, Tasci, Gentner & Trasch at Stuttgart, plus Subotic ( academy), Kirchoff, Ivanshitz, Caligiuri & fuchs at Mainz.

I've been undecided for a long time since we found it wasn't going to be LVG (fucking United ****s). But i think I've finally made up my mind.

Obviously LVG number one choice. Then Martinez. Then Ancelotti. We're not going to get any of them.

So Rafa Benitez for me. He's got probably the best possible track record of anyone we could realistically get, and despite his reputation for defensive football, his Roma side have been playing some very nice stuff on the handful of occasions I've seen them this season.

He knows the Premiership, he doesn't stupidly fall out with players for no reason, he can handle all the pressure in the world, and he would probably be in a position to get the very best from the likes of Soldado and Lamela.

Whether Roma will let him go I don't know - I would expect a hefty compensation payment would be required. But he's got it all.

I highly doubt we'll get him though, as we've barely been linked at all. And Spurs are very good at getting the leaks out to the press that they want. I actually expect us to start next season with one of Sherwood, Potchetino or De Boer in charge (of whom I would like FDB most, but not much).

But yeah, Rafa for me.

Ummmmmmmm Rafa manages Napoli......... But yeah after Carlos and Van Gal I would take Rafa.

Stobart has a new article in the last few hours saying that we are stepping up our search for a new manger this week- can't link as I am on my phone

Main points:
1. Pochettino now our main target as LVG is joining United
2.We are interested in FDB but their sources in Holland say there are major doubts that it will happen
3. No chance of appointing Moyes

If ture this is worrying, You would of thought that if there was a clear idea of where we are going and what we want these 2 are very far apart. If we wanted Van Gal surely we are wanting experience and a history of success, you would of thought Ancelotti, Benitez or even Capello would of been next but we turn straight to another young guy? Or does this approach not worry anyone else?

Our approach to everything worries me. I'm kind of used to now though.

I expect Pochettino would be a complete disaster, and would be sacked within 18 months. Hiring him would be a huge risk - bigger than making AVB our manager - and is based on what exactly? A few decent performances for a mid-table team?

Plus it will be difficult for him to endear himself to the fans if he refuses to speak English to the media. Sounds like a daft point, but it will make people less likely to relate to him, and more likely to turn against him.

Bit like SAF handpicking Moyes for ManU?
Not really, he said it while he was manager of Bayern in a press conference after a defeat to Mainz, the thing is in Germany Tuchel is rated just as highly as Klopp & I don't get this unknown manager or inexperienced remarks by some on here, Tuchel has been coaching since he was 26, he has loads of experience & is only unknown if you follow just English football.

maybe we're looking at manager's with similar playing styles rather than similar experience. Lvg to benitez would worry me more as it would seem we have no idea of the clubs style and identity

:D

IIRC he nearly walked earlier this season when they changed chief executives or whatever it was and I reckon he only stayed on out of some sense of loyalty. It wouldn't surprise me if he quits once the season is over and if not, i'm not sure it would be a difficult task to persuade him to leave.

Anyone with a couple of squiddley-poo's to spare really ought to get it on him at whatever odds they can get. It (appointing him) absolutely REEKS of Levy.

And being destroyed 0-4, 1-5, 0-5 like we have against the top 4? And ultimately failing to make the top 4 again?

Rafa knows how to set up a team, and build from defence, but it is a misconception he brings boring football.
