Modric is a very good player but he ain't the one that makes us tick.

That would be MR.VDV.

I find it really sad that the majority of you lot don't see it.

I see it your way. Rafa is a leader where Luka needs to be led. Just a shame that his fitness is such a problem. I was really annoyed to see him starting on Wednesday. Should have been preserved for the league. Same goes for Parker and Lennon. Harry does not rotate these players effectively.

Harry can't even spell rotation!

wow. really. wow.

we aren't out to win every game. everton away is hard. granted redknapp screwed up today. i was at goodison today and even our fans were singing 'he plays on the left, he plays on the left, gareth bale, he plays on the left'. same about luka in CM. Harry has just made a few mistakes here adn there by playing people out of position to confuse opposition... not necessarily a bad tactic; it just happened not to have worked. move on.

one thing i will agree on though.... i kinda sorta felt this from when we signed him...

adebayor is total utter crap. saha is the real deal, albeit short term. we really need to raid germany for an awesome striker. i'm seriously worried about podolski and the goons.

I had to stop reading there. That's just nuts. Of course we're out to win every game.

It's not a disaster, but I think we're being shown now that we're not as good as we thought we were.

We got mullered by United and City at the start of the season. Then beat a poor Liverpool side and an Arsenal side so low on confidence and even they outplayed us that day.

After that, we had a run of really favourable fixtures. Now we're had our run of difficult ones all in one go and have been found out a little. We were never a 13 points clear of Chelsea or Arsenal side. We were never that good. We just had a bit of luck with the schedule and built up a buffer.

It was always going to go to the wire. But it looks to me like our players got complacent.

Even if you're not, you have to beat Everton if you've just lost to City, United and Arsenal in recent weeks and have Chelsea away soon. You just have to. Rot sets in and confidence drops. We've seen it happen to Chelsea and the Goons.

We badly needed something against Everton and I fear for our recovery, I really do.

We are Tottenham and it is the league hence we will always buckle at some point. Been doing it for 50 years.

We will be back alongside newcastle, villa and everton within two seasons.

Blood brother.... It's 3rd we need......

Nice to finish above the scum and after doing so well for half the season it would be a shame to let it slip but top 4 is the goal

Let's be honest if your not going to win the league or finish runners up who gives a toss whether you finish 3rd or 4th

Some even believe its more important to win a cup than finish in the top 4

For me finishing 5th this season would be pretty much a disaster but top 4 was always the goal

If the scum were mid table nobody would care less finishing 3rd or 4th as long as we had CL football next season

We can still finish 3rd, might well finish 4th but hopefully pull ourselves together to finish comfortably above Chelski in 5th

We really need to get back to our basics that include bale playing left wing and bombing at full backs and luka in CM dictating things

Reading this you would think our team was made up of Doherty, Postiga and Rebrov.

The squad is strong both mentally and physically. We got thrashed in the first 2 games of the season and came back to win 5 in a row. We nearly completed an epic comeback against City at Eastlands. We controlled possession against Manchester United. We went 2-0 up against Arsenal at the Emirates. On all 3 occasions small mistakes cost us all 3 points. However, rather than be miserable about it we should see the improvement that we have made.

We are competing with Arsenal, City and United. We do not roll over to them anymore and instead we fight. The fact that we have dipped at a bad time this season is naturally disappointing but you don't become Champions over night. It takes experience and we have gained more of that this season.

And after all that disappointment we are still 3rd with only Chelsea from the top 7 still to play. Would you have taken that before the season started?

The only way round it is for King, Parker, etc to call a group meeting and refocus the players for finishing 3rd.

Good post, but they already had a group meeting. I think it was after the scum game. We've come back well but still lost two more.

Quite simply, we are doing a Newcastle in 96.... Thew away a lead. Something I realized about spurs..no bottle or mentality to really keep there heads. I honestly do see us finish 5th.... Chavski and arse have been here. I really am losing faith in Harry .. He can run the bloody English .... Another bunch of no hopers like us. Right rant over ... Let me get my Geordie shirt.. But the scum will beat them.. Difference between quality and a bunch of wannabes..

By rights we should not be ahead of Arsenal or Chelsea because their budgets (net transfer plus wages) are much higher than ours .

As for competing with the Manchester teams it is pie in the sky .

It's like comparing an Aston Martin with a souped up Vauxhall .

We might get the jump on them away from the lights but quarter of mile down the road end up driving over the remains of our own engine .

People are beginning to seriously underrate us now. We have been excellent for a long long time, and now we've had a bad hour against Arsenal and a poor first half vs Everton all of a sudden we're shit and the last few months meant nothing? Even Moyes said it, he said that's the toughest game they've played and probably the best side they've come up against. We completely dominated them for about an hour at Goodison which pretty much nobody can ever say. We just didn't get the luck and get the goal or two we deserved. Had we got what we deserved and went on to win the match, you lot would all be the complete opposite right now. We can't win every game and everyone needs to stop being so dramatic and see the bigger picture. The last two games we've dominated and deserved 6 points and got 0. That's not to say we're out of form and usless again, we've just been unlucky. Stop fucking panicking because everything hasn't gone our way for the past couple of weeks, it won't happen for 10 weeks running or however long is left.

Hmm, IMO the only really bad game from us lately was against Arse, we were bad even when we were 2-0 up! Against ManU we dominated the game very much until the 2-0 and after an average first half against Everton we fully dictated the second half.

The problems are pretty much the same as they IMO were before this season started: we still do not have a striker who scores regularly, our set pieces are still poor ones and we didn't sign a top class CD. Hopefully Saha can be the one up front. The CD situation is much more tricky one, especially now when Dawson is out. Gallas is not fit and Kaboul still makes too many mistakes. King is more than ever out of his best and IMO many many games this season has shown that he can't do it anymore at top level prem football. Nelsen was great...is he still good enough?

And I'm sure our coaching staff is doing something for our set pieces, it can't be so hard! ;-D

Anyway we are still in the race for 3rd place and I strongly believe we will win that race!! COYS!!!

Simply this.

1. We set our hearts on winning the premier league. Defoe missing in the last minute against City and then conceeding a penalty has crushed the team. Their dream had died and they've lost motivation.

2. We're in a particular difficult run of games. City, United, Arsenal, etc.

3. Redknapp speculation has unsettled the players. Who is going to come in? Do I have a future here?

The only way round it is for King, Parker, etc to call a group meeting and refocus the players for finishing 3rd.

Agree totally. The last three minutes of that Man City game were the defining moment. BUT, we have winnable games in the run in. What's it going to take to get a bit of momemtum going? Anyone know when Lennon is due back? Need him back quickly IMO.
