Simply this.

1. We set our hearts on winning the premier league. Defoe missing in the last minute against City and then conceeding a penalty has crushed the team. Their dream had died and they've lost motivation.

2. We're in a particular difficult run of games. City, United, Arsenal, etc.

3. Redknapp speculation has unsettled the players. Who is going to come in? Do I have a future here?

The only way round it is for King, Parker, etc to call a group meeting and refocus the players for finishing 3rd.

You could also say we've been switching the team around a bit too much, Modric, Bale shifted about, Lennon and VdV out, Saha making his presence felt - we haven't really done to well out of any of it.

All i hear when modric is mentioned is he's "a world class player"..really is he ? i cant see it and i said it on here a year ago at least.

For someone whos supposed to be one of the best in the prem,ive never seen someone give the ball away as much as him...40million..i'd snap whoevers arm off if i was offered that for him.

Im not sure but he must be one of the lowest scoring "world class" (yeah right) midfielders in the league ? please dont give me this assist bollox either.

I don't believe the England thing has made any difference at all. Todays performance was no worse, and indeed better, than some others away from home this season.

This was very similar to games like Stoke and West Brom and better than Fulham, Blackburn.

Modric is a very important player for us but, creatively, VDV is even more important.
