Forgot all about him, he was great for that 1 season.
When ever stories like this pop up I always think of Jamie Slabber. We all thought he'd be the next Micheal Owen, now I have no idea where he is.

Another '15 mins of fame' that a significant number on here were screaming with rage about Levy not stumping up £20m+ for. Him and... lets say... Leandro Damiao would have made one hell of a strike partnership. With Soldado that would have been the holy trinity itself.

Injuries and now on loan in Spain I think? A one season wonder maybe but I recall they got him for an absolute bargain, so probably well worth it in the end.

Purple patch season.

Stat watchers were calling the downfall ages ago as he had a ridiculously unsustainable conversion percentage. Everything was going in for him and that doesn't happen for the absolute best of players.

He had major injury issues and from the sounds of it a bit of a shit attitude.

In that one season he had he played in virtually every match for the Swans in the league and any important one for the cups....the next season he couldn't stay healthy to the point that he appeared in about 1/2 the matches he did the year before.

Out on loan to Napoli he couldn't stay healthy and only played in 5 matches. When he finally got healthy it sounds like his attitude got in the way of him actually getting playing time.

I remember people baying for him to be bought at 20 or 25M or something on the back of that one season.

Poster boy for not getting toooooo excited by a player who has a stand out season.

I always remember him going mental against us during one game, he was being overly aggressive and celebrating in front of our players like a looney.

Funny someone mentioning Leandro, every other poster on this board wanted to sign him as if he was the best thing since sliced bread, I wonder if they still want him too? :ROFLMAO:

I'm usually hold back on wanting players based on one good season.

Players with a lot of pace can cause defenders all sorts of problems but once defenders know their game they can be easy to defend against and often the 2nd season and after that the player won't maintain his performance unless he is genuine quality.

I remember watching Michu in his first season. He was a good finisher, great technique and control, good eye for a pass and also handled the physical side of the game.

I'll hold my hands up and say I wanted us to buy him. Not sure I was advocating a £20m+ bid but definitely a player I wanted.
