It seems we have been completely written off since they signed Ozil. No doubt it will be a close race again but I have confidence. We look very solid and although we lost, the domination we had is positive for the season ahead. Much more likely to win a trophy too seeing as people like Gallas, Park, Huddlestone have gone meaning our cup teams are stronger.

Looking on shed end and they have a thread called 'Who do you hate the most?'. They haven't mastered the art of a voting system yet but I was surprised from the comments that we don't feature that much. Seems like Liverpool and Barca are the two they can't stand, then we're in there with a mix of United and West Ham.

From a Norwich forum...

Looking forward to going to spurs, good time to be playing them .
:playful:

I've been the last two years and seen a fantastic win their under Lambert, and a draw under Hughton which was nearly as good. It will be a first game for a lot of their new players with the exit of Bale, so in that sense it is a good time to play them. But realistically it's still a fixture where we'll do well to come away with anything.

Reading, Liverpool & Spurs have spent a lot, bought some decent players, can't see Arsenal beating them to fourth spot this season.

Followed by...

Reading???

I honestly believe anyone of the Manchesters, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea or Liverpool could challenge and the ones that stay mostly injury free will be the top four.

despite losing their star man Gareth Bale, Spurs have done tremendously well, strengthening throughout the side. Time will tell as to whether Villas Boas can mould undoubtedly brilliant individual talents into a hard-working and effective team, but on paper you have to say they've had a remarkable transfer window.

Arsemania on transfers:

"I think that we could realistically set ourselves on a pace of 1 elite player a year which as long as we make good intelligent decisions is enough to make us elite again. If we sign a WC striker next summer, we're talking about an elite squad minus any serious departures."

They´ve become a very confident bunch overnight

Confident enough to buy a toilet striker?? ;)

From RAWK on Bale:

The funniest thing about it is they are going to "unveil" him in a special ceremony with a capacity crowd. Real Madrid are like a fat Spanish mayor who has an addiction to buying expensive statues for his town.

I'd be embarassed. Deeply embarassed.

However Spurs must be absolutely made up with £85M. It'll be like having Roman Abramovich on loan for a season.

I'm excited by the fact that we are being underestimated hopefully we can go under the radar and do are own thing. Usually when we have are expected to do something we fall short so i'd prefer them to underestimate us so our lads don't succumb to the pressure of high expectation

This goes only if other teams underestimate us, not fans of other teams.

Actually think Norwich fans do have some reason for optimism. It IS a good time to be playing Spurs, new squad, just back from International duty... if you're going to play this talented side and get something from it then it is surely now!?

Not too familiar with norwich's squad but i'm guessing not too many internationals? This means they have an extra week in practicing how to beat our style of play.

Not sure that's much of an advantage because no-one really knows how we're going to play just yet. We have so many options now, all sorts of formations could be tried out.

But if there is an early click (probably a false dawn) then we will destroy them

Arsenal showed exactly how to beat us... men behind the ball and attack at pace.
Whether Norwich can play like that? Doubtful, so they might need a different game plan, but i would expect them upon surrendering possession to shut up shop at the back and we could be in for a frustrating afternoon.

Yes, it could be a good time play us. Hard to know for sure though.

If Eriksen and Lamela both start they'll be desperate to do well on their home debuts. We bossed the Arsenal midfield for large periods of the game on Sunday, I'm sure we'll do likewise with Norwich so it comes down to our ability to create enough and then finish off what we produce. I'm convinced we will with Soldado, we just need to present him with proper chances.

In other words if Lamela and Eriksen start and play well, we could be handing out our first arse wiping for quite sometime.

So hard to know for sure, and whilst I can see why they might be slightly optimistic, if I were them I would also be worried if we clicked - because when we do we are going to give someone a serious hiding.

I don't really agree with that. We bossed their midfield, and bar one avoidable mistake we wouldn't of conceded. Ok Hugo had two other good moments, but Arsenal normally create a lot more than that against us in their back yard.

Our problem was turning midfield superiority into clear cut chances for ourselves, which we failed to do. Had we done so, we would of won this game never mind lost IT IMO.

My point is, it wasn't a tactic by Wenger to sit deeper. We overpowered them in the middle, we just couldn't turn that into an advantage as we lacked the ability to create clear cut chances.

That was a shadow of the team and performances I expect to see when all our signings bed in. I'm not reading too much into that defeat, can't remember us playing so slow before.

Anyway, this is getting off topic again.
