That was a shadow of the team and performances I expect to see when all our signings bed in. I'm not reading too much into that defeat, can't remember us playing so slow before.
Anyway, this is getting off topic again.
Or just say Ledley was being a c--t! Which he was. Didn't see the jestiness myself, irony maybe.

Exactly. Once our lads become familiar with each others games and exactly what AVB wants, we should be flying. Arsenal were well organised and played that game as a total unit. That side of it was impressive and they were totally organised and knew exactly what they were doing which is no surprise. We were tentative because we didn't have that familiarity or cohesion and we kind of froze tbh. Only way to describe it.
When we're in full flow we'll be scary.
This season we need kaboul to stay fit or Chiri to come in blazing and...stay fit.
With our FBs we need super solid CBs this season.

To get back on topic...two scum mates of mine (childhood friends, what ya gonna do...), even though they won, weren't too elated and seemed to know that something had changed with us and seemed very apprehensive and muted even though they won.Yup, that's the advantage of not spending in a window though, they were ready and raring to go from the off (despite the 3-1 loss to Villa). It wont be hard for them to integrate only one player too in Özil, and they're get off to a great start no doubt, but when we get to christmas time and latter stages of the year it'll be to our advantage that we have such a big competitive squad
...and some confuse the two - leave them to it I guess...if you wish.Irony is often amusing, jesting is also often amusing. There's your linkypoo.
But yeah, back on topic....

Yes, it could be a good time play us. Hard to know for sure though.
If Eriksen and Lamela both start they'll be desperate to do well on their home debuts. We bossed the Arsenal midfield for large periods of the game on Sunday, I'm sure we'll do likewise with Norwich so it comes down to our ability to create enough and then finish off what we produce. I'm convinced we will with Soldado, we just need to present him with proper chances.
In other words if Lamela and Eriksen start and play well, we could be handing out our first arse wiping for quite sometime.
So hard to know for sure, and whilst I can see why they might be slightly optimistic, if I were them I would also be worried if we clicked - because when we do we are going to give someone a serious hiding.
Kicking arse is one thing.....but wiping arse? I'm not sure the players will be filled with much fighting spirit when they hear Michael Dawson give his pre-match team talk saying "Let's wipe some ass!"
Arsenal showed exactly how to beat us... men behind the ball and attack at pace.
Whether Norwich can play like that? Doubtful, so they might need a different game plan, but i would expect them upon surrendering possession to shut up shop at the back and we could be in for a frustrating afternoon.
I'd have to agree with Pinky on this. We had Dawson playing, who isn't really suited to the high line - stick Kaboul, who is much pacier, into that team and we will air better. We were also missing the players we would look to for creativity, on the whole - the ones who would link midfield were we had a lot of dominance, and the attack, were, in this particular match, Soldado was totally isolated.
Even then, we had as many chances on and off target as the Goons, and twice as many blocked shots. Our team will be significantly different and quite soon.
AVB is setting us up to be solid and hard to beat, first, with creativity to be added, IMHO. So far we have won four games out of five and conceded one goal in five competitive games. I believe the only team that will truly be getting a good time to play us was the Goons.
Though it hurts but i agree with the bleeding style arsenal play and lucky for us only one team play like that in the league, the closest to them will be swansea and liverpool. Not many teams attack like Ars*nal. Whatever we may think of them, they are the best team in the league at opening up defences at pace.
Norwich seem to have bought well this summer, and have spent a lot on upgrading their attack, but I think we'll boss the midfield, and, as usual, it's just a question of whether we have the creativity to open them up.
