Why is Lukaku a mercenary?

I don't think mercenary is the right word, but Everton is clearly just a step on his career path. We've got unbelievably lucky with Kane, not just his football skills and his locality, but his character. It's quite funny reading Redcafe and seeing Man Utd fans discussing whether they should buy Kane, oblivious to the fact he'd have no interest in going there, uprooting his life and moving to Manchester, even for more money. As long as he gets to score goals and the team has the opportunity to compete, he'll stay at Spurs. I think he'd even put up with a couple of fallow years before he'd consider moving.

Also very noticeable with Lukaku is his lack of celebration when anyone bar he scores. Never good to have that in a dressing room.

Surprised to hear talk he's expected to sign a new deal at Everton. Gives off a vibe of wanting out.

He plays for Everton, he's just being realistic.
He's allowed to think about a move. But constantly publicly inviting a move, and the clear and blatant lack of giving a shit for the success of his club (never celebrates unless he scores) just isnt right.

C'mon thats OTT, so he rarely celebrate unless he scores, who cares? Are players not allowed to be different?

You asked why he was a mercenary. It's been described to you how he fits that description by any definition of the word. Great, you don't care that he's a mercenary - but that doesn't stop him being one.

I despise Lukaku with a passion. He is like. A bad girlfriend who thinks she is constantly better than you and making you a paranoid that she will or is cheating. He is only in it for himself and just urgh argh urgh

He will be off next season.

PS anyone who keeps disagreeing with my earlier comparison of Barkley v Dele

GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Nothing more hilarious than seeing jealous bitter rival fans still to this day try to convince themselves that Kane is not that great. Don't get me wrong most supporters are finally realising what a stunning striker he is but you still have that bitter few who will never accept it because they are that pathetic. Let the pricks doubt him whilst Harry scores goal after goal after goal. Bitter ****s!!!

Loved it when Souness kept going on about how Kane scores more than Lukaku because he has better players feeding him then they showed the replay of the first that Kane literally created out of nothing for himself

Did you say the same with bale? You might be right with kane but don't treat it as gospel.

No, Bale made career choices to leave his home town of Cardiff, the place he has the greatest affinity with, to go to Southampton, then another career choice to come to Tottenham, then another to go to Madrid. Bale was not in any sense a Tottenham fan and he never proclaimed to be.

I personally felt the lure of Spain would always prove too much for Bale if either of the big clubs came calling. I don't get that sense at all with Kane. He's fortunate in that he found all the things he wanted on his doorstep and obviously we were fortunate too.

It will be so utterly disappointing if we somehow find a way to end the season behind Arsenal in the table. We are such a superior side to them not only in terms of overall talent/ability but from a functional standpoint. It's so great to see them falling apart, I just hope that turns into us finally finishing above them (and obviously starting our own little run in that regard).

Apart from when he left us for arsenal then came back.

I hope he has everything with us. But don't delude ourselves.

He never left us to go to Arsenal. He spent a year there when he was 8. I doubt it's particularly serious at that age and, to be honest, I think they were probably miles ahead of us at that time in terms of facilities. Gary Neville sends his kid to City's academy but you can be damn sure they'll be growing up United fans.

Every kid at every level was probably forced to die their hair red during that title celebration where that picture emanates from. I dread to think what other things kids were subjected to there. Kane's been at Spurs since he was 11, since he first went to senior school, all of his formative years were spent at Spurs. If he wasn't a Spurs fan before that, that's the time he became one, as that's when kids develop personal choices.

I hope you're right.

But if we want to keep kane, alli etc... we need to win trophies.
