A bit puzzled over how many that prefer Rose over Davies based on this season.

Because regardless of the quality of his final ball he stretches and causes panic in the opposition's final 3rd.

Davies has been good this season, but doesn't get forward enough in the big games. Rose doesn't care who he's playing.

Have to say I'm quite surprised how many people are looking at this predominantly from an attacking POV. I like my defenders to defend first and foremost.

But they aren't really defenders anymore. Dier tackles more on the flanks than any of our full-backs.

I still think Walker isn't quite with the programme. Another one of the uncoachables? I dunno.. maybe our Kyle is just a bit thick.

Think Poch needs to mix up the pairings. Rose and Trippier or Walker and Davies.

With Trippier and Davies we lack the aggression and speed the other pair brings and with Rose and Walker we've two full backs who can't cross.
Absolutely.

I think Davies is the weakest of them all. The three others are really close for me. I would probably say Trippier & Rose as the best pair.

Rose gets forward, that's true, but it generally ends up with him whipping in a cross seemingly without too much thought of where it ends up. Davies has created numerous chances by cutting the ball back into areas where we actually have players, and seems to be better at passing moves and timing of runs.

Yes but they are so important in Poch's set up. We need width and the way he set's up the the rest of the team we would be ever so narrow if we had FB's who just sat back........but I get your point.

But as I said; not against the big teams.

I still don't think we get enough bodies in the box at times either.

That depends on what criteria you use for 'defending' though... Rose for instance I would say anticipates, presses and nips in and wins the ball back much better than Davies does. In a Pochettino/high press system a manager might see these as better 'defensive' qualities than what would traditionally come to mind.

They do have varying strengths and weaknesses, and i think we should be weighing those up more carefully when looking at the upcoming opponent as opposed to just rotating them every single week/match day. So not only would it make more sense tactically for a more considered approach but it would also keep the opposition guessing.

As someone said earlier Walker and Rose would of been better suited to West Ham away IMO.

But if you're asking me what two I would pick for a huge game it would be still be Walker and Rose, just. They're simply more tenacious defenders and have bigger engines to get up and down the flank, their superior pace opens up more space as well.

personally I prefer Walker and Rose. Both of them are absolute thoroughbreds who can cover so much space for 90 minutes. That alone frees up other players do other things. I agree that Trippier swings in beautiful crosses so I dont mind when he's in the line up and and also agree with whoever said Davies probably brings the least to the table of the four.

I think Davies is our most solid defender and most intelligence, I'd like Walker & Davies teamed up then Trippier & Rose.

I think we have the best four full backs in the PL, love watching them all.
Walker has been superb this season, slightly less so in last couple if games, Rose is unstoppable. Davies's ability to pick and make a pass is fantastic, as is Trippier's energy and crossing.
Still think Walker and Rose are just ahead but Poch's use of all of them is good.

Horses for courses. Depends on the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition.

Lacking a 'horses for courses' option I voted for Rose and Walker because they occupy the most space, and have the speed to save a bad situation.
