What do we do for a left back against Fulham?

Jol has a tendency to play Duff out on the right so maybe a right footer would not be a bad thing?

Harry's flat out not dropping Lennon unless he's injured or woefully out of form, which neither are the case. 'Arry luvs 'im sum wiiide n t'riffic (not to mention Ingerlish) lads.

Friedel

Bale
Kaboul
Gallas
Walker

Modric
Sandro
Parker
Lennon

VDV

Adebayor

Mind you, I'd rather go 4231, but I have a feeling that 4411 will be rather fluid with Bale wandering up, Modric in, and Sandro over and back. Either way, it's imperative that we control the midfield or our best attacking player (Bale) may be neutralized for far too long, putting a vital 3 points in peril.

Controlling the midfield would be a lot easier with Modric there. Hopefully Harry realizes this (yeah right) and tells him to drift in, opening up the flank for a bombing Bale.

If this happens the key to the whole match may in fact be Sandro and Parker. Stay back, kill counters. Protect the back 3.5.

well pretty much really, i sometimes wonder if he would best as impact sub, or used against weak teams. i'll get negged for saying this but he's a bit of a theo walcott in my opinion

I wouldn't say he's that bad but to me he seems more dangerous on the left as his crossing on right is painful to watch.

Funny reading this thread. No matter what side he puts out, if things do happen to go awry you can guarantee that one person will proclaim that Harry is a twat and should be sacked because of the side he put out whilst another will just conveniently forget that they had suggested the side themselves (and no doubt state that Harry is a twat and deserves to be sacked!)

OK, I will take on that heavy burden.

Harry is a twat and deserves to be sacked. (The rest of you can breathe easier...)

Bale has to play left back for me. Away from home maybe Gallas. At home, Bale all day long. We wont ask him to sit back and defend. We will be going hammer and tong to win this game. We will be camped for long periods in the Fulham half. He might be 20 yards further back at the start of the attacks, but he'll have space to run into, arriving at defenders at pace as opposed to standing still. He has to play there Sunday IMHO. Much like Alves at Barcelona, who you would think is a wide forward near every game they play. Providing Parker and Sandro are disciplined enough to provide subsequent cover for Bale or Gallas if he gets sucked over, then we'll be fine.
