Anyone else feel that West Ham, and Big Sam have the tactics to beat the Poch high-line approach? They did us last season using long diagonal balls over the top with midfielders running from deep to breach our defensive line. Poch's played them three times now, he was beaten convincingly when he took Southampton to their place and only managed to draw with them twice at home. Basically a deep-lying defence, not giving a shit about possession, and long balls pumped over the top are a recipe for unsticking the Poch type approach. [/buzz-kill]

On the up side, he's had a season and a half to work out what to do with long-ball teams - an approach I'm sure he'd not have come across anywhere previous in his career - so let's be optimistic that he's got a plan for them now!

Obviously, but we have better players than West ham and it is all about the approach that Barcelona employ.
Agree. I worry that we'll get out fought by these inferior players. I would love to see us dominate possession and run them ragged, but I just cant see it today.

They beat us last season without a striker on the pitch. I think fat Sam probably fancies he's got the key to unlocking the high-pressing system, and like I say he thinks it's runners from deep with diagonal or chipped balls over the top. Unfortunately, you have to admit that, so far he's been right.

I'm hoping that Poch isn't so tactically nieve. We shall see I guess! From what I have seen our high line isn't quite as high as under AVB.

I'm just hoping Pochettino can create a positive atmosphere at Tottenham, and turn us into a club that is fun to be at again.

This
But I'm not sure how long that will last with make up of our fan base.

I realised last night laying bed, its not losing or underachieving in the league that grinds my gears.
Its the incessant negative bleating of 'some' of our so called fans and the media's continued Redknapp influenced anti Spurs rhetoric.

Fiancé has come down with a stomach bug so I have to look after our son. Selfish bitch...

He'd really love a game of pool, glass of coke and a bag of pork scratchings. If only there was somewhere you could take him (that also has foreign tv)?

I think it has less to do with any Redknapp inspired anti-Spurs agenda and more the gleeful delight of the press in just how fucking easy it is to wind up Spurs fans.
