If we win I will be pleasantly surprised and begin to believe again. I'll be interested to see how fast we start, if we're still slow out the blocks in terms of pressing them then I'll despair!

A sobering thought, according to the BBC website........
"Tottenham have won just four of their last 16 opening weekend fixtures in the Premier League (D4, L8)."

The day is finally upon us. The first day anticipation and excitement hasn't hit me like this for years. I'm off to see the game this afternoon and I'm going for 2-0 Spurs.

Do you know what? Whatever the result, I just can't wait to see my team again! COYS!
Report back on our intensity and organisation if you can...and also the players' vibe/camaraderie on the pitch.(y)

I hope it will be comfortable 2-0 or 3-0 win with Soldado and Lamela scoring.
I think it will be a West Ham 1-0 win or 0-0 draw. It will take time for the lads to learn our system. They will close down Eriksen and Lamela very quickly and we will struggle to find a way to break them down.

Who do we think will start in midfield? I'm going for capoue and bentaleb, but maybe capoue and holtby? Paulinho/mason an outside chance? Hmmm...

Manager bullshit, looked into their science and have deduced that they should start the season without their World Cup stars. What a load of bollocks, these are young fit men trained to a pinnacle and they are deemed not ready to play.

Never has this happened in the history of other major tournaments, Players will get injured later on in the season World Cup or not.

We are being short changed by bullshit, Shankley, Nicholson will be turning in their graves.

We need some muscle in the midfield today. Not going to be game for the purists, but a battle.
I think it is too simplistic to look at it that way. Barcelona would beat West ham today without muscle in midfield. Pressing and keeping the ball are far more effective than having big lumps running around.

We shouldn't play them at their own game we should start as we mean to go on. Press the shit out of them and make our quality tell with pace and purpose.

Looking forward to the game. It's a midnight kickoff here in Brisbane. But I will be staying up to watch it live. Just hope they make it worth my while.
I do see us getting a good result. We don't have many new signings, so hopefully that will have given them a season to gel. Let's hope for a good season. COYS.

Really hope we get off to a good start. We need to set the bar in terms of performance. I'm looking for stellar performances from Capoue, Lamela, Eriksen & Soldado and hopefully 2 or 3 goals with a clean sheet. Let's get our tails up and some momentum going! COYS!! Time for Spurs to be sexy again!!

Holtby, Capoue, Lennon, Erikson and Lamela are not quite Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets, Neymar and Messi
