Another players career that we've nearly thrashed.

Let him go so he can continue to play. Good luck to him!

But on the plus side, if he hadn't been injured then it is highly likely that Lennon would still be sat on the bench, turning out for the odd Carling Cup game. Wayne's problem is that he came to the club and didn't realise (in fact none of us did) that the pocket rocket that is Lennon would prove to be such a find.

I think 1.8 mill is fair, it would be good for the lad to move on, he's not getting a game any time soon.

I would take 1.8M, for a guy thats hardly played any top flight football recently I think asking anymore would be taking the piss slightly, however Wayne has the potential, I think he just needs games. Knowing Levy, he'll probably squeeze 3M out of some desperate team (like Fulham)

Yep. Why should any team be expected to pay more than £1.8m for a player with only a handful of (distinctly average bar one) starts in the last two years when predominantly (that first injury aside) fit.

Well apart from the Spammers that is

I think we paid 1.5 million compensation to Crystal Palace for him, so 1.8 million will represent a modest profit, or just making up for inflation.

It'll be profit in the books as his purchase value would have been written off over his contract period.

Guys, lets face it, he's not going to be earning us anything in the near future so i say let him go to the rich mans Brum for a curly wurly then we can at least all have a good laugh over it

I say good luck to him. He was pretty unlucky in that Lennon came from nowhere and burst onto the scene while Routy was injured. Some would say he didn't take his chance but I reckon it's tough when you get such a massive kick in the teeth like he did. Confidence is such a massive part of it.

We didn't lose money on him, his wages will be off the books and he gets another chance in the premiership. Hopefully win, win, win.

I would say he's had his chances at both Fulham and Portsmouth to make their teams and didn't.
Obviously there's something wrong somewhere.

good luck to the fella. Feel quite sorry for him, missed out on 3 years of regular football at a club were he knew he could settle to be fair. Loans are a crock of shite.

I'm not quite as confident on this one. I always thought WR looked promising and think it is a good move for Villa to bring him in as cover for Ashley Young. Should Lennon pick up an injury we don't have quality cover, so I hope that if he does go we will bring in another winger. If we get Downing Malbranque could play on the right, but Taraabt doesn't seem ready yet.
