Why? He's notorious for not wanting to deal with them.can we re-name this 'squad overhall' or is there a thread for that already?
Agents must be licking their lips to get in front of Levy.....

Given our recent transfer inertia i dont think he has a choice. Id guess that between this summer and next the squad will look totally different. Why? He's notorious for not wanting to deal with them.
The fact of the matter is that a large part of our fan base has up until now been conditioned to believe that we can't compete, when it is rather a matter of us not wanting to compete when it comes to player investment. We are the 10th richest football club in the world, richer than the richest club in Italy, i.e. Juventus. But we act like a Championship club when it comes to player recruitment. So if we want our infrastructure investment to count, then we need to go out there and invest money in good talented people that can make our club perform better.
You've made some very salient points but this is slightly disingenuous. From a purely financial perspective we are the 10th richest in the world however we are competing in a parallel market to the likes of Juventus and Inter. It takes a lot less money to win Serie A than it does the Premier League and whilst we compete with them in European competition they have many other areas where they are far more attractive than us,such as winning titles and domestic cups and lower tax rates to attract players that we wouldnt be able to.
In the Premier League our market and direct rivals are all outspending us and earn more than we do (traditionally) so that is who we should be looking at.
It doesnt matter if we invest more than Juve if we're still investing less than the rest of the top 6 and end up outside the UCL qualification places.
