England are currently playing Czech Republic and are leading through a well taken goal by Frazier Campbell. Lennon and O'Hara are also playing for a decent England side.

Then there is Thomas Pekhart playing upfront for the Czech's. My god this lad is shit! I think we can all forget him ever making it down the lane.

It's on setanta.

You can't write off someone that is already shit. He has gone out on loan and doesn't get a look in at a very poor Southampton team. He has a first touch that makes Rasiak's look fuckin Berbatovesque. He is 6ft 5inches and has been out jumped for every ball and he has now been dragged off at half time.

On the other hand Campbell has been the best player on the pitch by a country mile.

Think this is a Spurs thread if we are discussing Spurs players.

Frasier had a very good 1st half, scored and won the penalty, but Lennon is being double marked and being fouled a lot.
O'Hara is having a tidy game apart from the penalty save.

One goal in eight games is not a very good record even at 19 and was meant to be the top striker in europe for his age.

I have heard it all before with Slade, Fenn, Allen , Slabber, Hendry, Barnard and many more that were going to be good players and never get anywhere.

As for our Academy it is pretty poor considering we have had King and O'Hara (Arsenal had him until 15) that are the only ones who have progressed to our first team in the last 10 years. Yes there are people like Carr, Young and Crouch but then there are the Jackson, Turner, Houghton, Mahon, Thelwell, Day, Hill, Watson who were all highly rated at 18/19 and never made it at the top level.

Pekhart will just be another one of the later but let's hope that we start seeing more of our own kids coming through in the future.

Peckart is 19 and playing in the czech U21s. Czech are a good footballing nation.

He must have some kind of potential, i refuse to write him off just yet, maybe he should go on loan to a lower division where he will play every week.

Good to see campbell doing well, I really want us to sign him now! And start on the weekend!

Just got back from this game, I was sat behind the goal just to one side.

O'Hara was solid at left back but couldn't put a decent cross in, either too low or ballooned into the stand. He did have a couple of decent free kicks one that floated across for a headed chance that was oly just saved by the goalie and one on target but down the goalies throat. The penalty came a few minutes after going 2-0 up and I was laughing thinking we would be 3 up very shortly. his pen was cack though, not in the corner and not very hard. Very easy for goalkeeper.

Campbell was really good, quick, lively and his goal looked class from what I could see (it was at opposite end to where I was sat) He won the penalty, deservedly so and in the melee after the miss he was fouled again, it was about 20 feet in front of me and I swear it was another pen. Ref was never gonna give it though so soon after first and so guess what he did? Booked Campbell for diving, absolute farce.

Lennon was just Lennon, as someone else said he was double marked but he still caused problems. Some good runs & one or two decent crosses. a lot more poor ones though.

Peckhart was anonymous in first half and didn't come out for second.

MOM for me (and my son) was Stearman from Wolves but Campbell was a close second and as he scored and won a pen I understood why he got it.

Entertaining game overall

Lennon seems to have lost the ability to go past someone on the inside (yes i'm sure he did have it...) at one point tonight when Lennon faced up the LB (alone for once) the left back produced what i would call poor defending against a quick player, standing about 3 foot outside Lennon leaving him a written invite to go inside (even Big Tom could've got through such a gap) But Lennon still tried to jink outside the defender, and he simply stuck his leg out and took the ball.

So i am wondering, is Lennon being coached to go outside ALL THE TIME?

or has he simply lost that ability?

U-21 has about as much connection with real football as The Sound of Music. Not to be taken seriously.

I thought Lennon looked better when he moved to the left last night. I think that could well be where he'll end up playing. He's a lot more unpredictable out there and seems to mix it up better on that side.
