I hope it isn't. But fuck knows how he feels right now. Playing him while we're in this situation is incredibly short-sighted.

And yet fans everywhere are begging for Jose to play him. Hes not ready. Its clear to see on tonight's showing

But Kane didn’t look good early on, people were saying he was a championship player. At least he knows the level now, different people respond in different ways. It’s too early for him for sure but maybe he’ll double down & work harder on his game. Or it could go the other way, time will tell.

Kane missed a penalty when we were already 5-0 up. This is a very different situation. People should have recognised that we're desperately poor because this is Mourinho's choice of how to play. The schoolboy is not the solution to that, putting all that pressure on his shoulders was incredibly unfair, and now the kid with a questionable character has that as his memory from the first time he's got significant minutes at NWHL.
A kid who thinks he is good enough to play for the first team and who wants to play, do me a favour mate, do you think that Gilmore kid yesterday would have missed a pen after working hard to get in the first team? Maybe people are right, his another Edwards already thinks he has made it and is the best out there.

He did ok, couple of nice moments, but even Harry Kane looks forlorn when not one decent ball is played into the box. The penalty miss might be the making of him now, gets an experience of the pits very early on in his career, builds character. Additionally, Jose will be impressed that he put his hand up in the first instance.

Did more than Dele in his short stint. Can’t be too displeased about anything other than the penalty. Take it, learn from it, move on.

Am I the only one who liked to see him running at full speed and pressing from the front after seeing Dele jogging around and sulking the whole game?

I don't blame him for the pen. Better players than him have missed pens. I'm not going to judge him on 25 mins either. That defeat isn't on him.

I’m sure he’ll have high spirits after the manager telling him he’s not ready and then missing a pen.

Or he could act like a professional and just do his job? He has to take some responsibility for his career now

I thought he did ok when he came on, I actually would have liked him on with Dele earlier to help up front when we pretty toothless all night.

He wasn’t that bad, people will look at him differently just because he missed a penalty which is ridiculous. When he came in Lo Celso was dead tired so he took his position to do the defensive work while Lo Celso was higher up the pitch. If you look at his average position he was playing as a CM. So he did show maturity by playing as a midfielder when he’s a striker and probably wants to score

If I was Jose I would play him more, Dele, Lucas and Bergwijn looked very tired

What a load of bollocks. Acting like a player can ‘choose’ whether to miss a penalty or not. It’s a penalty, if the keeper comes off his line and guesses the right way, he may well save it.

I suppose Messi and Ronaldo haven’t missed any penalties?

Truly idiotic comment.

I thought he did fine. How many times has Kane looked anonymous in game ? As a striker he needs service. I don’t think he looked out of place at all and certainly gave us way more energy than Dele.

Won't be seeing him again this season.

Poor guy. Still admire him for willingness to take one.

Why not? He seems to have earned a place on the bench now so he's starting to gain Jose's trust.

And yet fans everywhere are begging for Jose to play him. Hes not ready. Its clear to see on tonight's showing

You can't judge him on a 24 minute showing in extra time.

I don't think Mick McCarthy is helping him, saying things like he needs 1st team football to play for Ireland is putting Parrot under pressure, part of me thinks Jose saying what he did was more of a "told you so".

The full article/quotes read better than the headline with the Parrott comments but probably something he shouldn't be saying nevertheless. I thought he did fine in the time he was on.
