There’s no doubt José has been told he has to bring youth through, rather than had a sudden epiphany. Parrott would seem to be the most high profile of those coming through so José will either make a success of it or attempt to destroy him, depending on his mood. I’m just glad he’s Irish as I know I’ll get to follow his career either way.

The major issue we have like signing a striker is he simply knows he won’t be No1 till Kane retires or leaves. Saying that he’s 21 when Kane is 31 so their careers could dovetail very nicely. But he’s really got us over a barrel at this point and could ask for a silly new contract.

What's the situation regarding extending his contract? It feels strange there's already worry about him moving on when the kids 17.

Get his contract extended and then get the boy loaned out for games. Decent level, competitive men’s football and chance to play games. Worked well for Harry didn’t it?
