Err liverpool actually played some youth players, we played our first team players and fringe players, they also had some of their youth team on the bench we didn't

People are obsessed with average age on this site as if its proof we are blooding in youngsters but take out brad and our squad has always been this young

People may point to Alli being a youth player but he isnt has a lot of experience in football and for the same reason people didn't count Gomez and Ibe as a youth player.

Liverpool had 3 youth players during the match and an additional 2 on the bench not including Ibe and Gomez who are 18 and 19. They started a 19 year old youth player and brought on 2 18 year old youth players against a decent french team away at their ground.

Not to mention the only reason their average age is so high is because they played a 34 year old Kolo Toure, who got subbed quick after 20mins. If you take just Kolo Toure their average age goes down to 21.6 years old

Meanwhile we were playing pretty a second rate team whose claim to fame was they were the first football team in their country to win the league and not come from the capital, (shortly afterwards they moved to the capital city). Yet the best we could muster was 2 youth players on the bench when we have 3 CM's out and 2 AM's.

Then when our only DM(that poch likes) gets injured he pisses about letting him limp on his injury and possibly making it worse for about 4 mins before deciding he has to take him off.

What's your point. We won Liverpool lost.

"have" not "of". You are not the only one as many on here spoil an otherwise good post with this same mistake. Just irritates the heck out of me.

This place is rampant with that mistake. I've no doubt it's largely due in part to the British pronunciation of the phrase, but yeah I'm OCD about it myself. Thanks for making a stand.

"Should've" becomes "should of," for better or worse.

Well...actually for worse, but you get my point.

Right, exactly. Phonetically, with British accents, it does make sense that the mistake is very common. Not sure why though, but I've always found that one a bit annoying. That one and the they're/their/there and you're/your mistakes are the ones which get me.

The one that irritates me is 'loose' instead of 'lose'.

Also, why the hell do some Americans say 'I could care less'?

I completely agree with you on "could care less." I've even been "corrected" (attempts) for saying "couldn't care less." Laughable.

So , what's the general feeling on here about last nights game?

Personally I thought it was a decent performance, especially considering the average age of the side we put out.

Your comment is correct in my opinion and I agree with you. Most people won't want to agree with you on this site, mainly because they're afraid to get 'virtual neg rep' which then comes with people judging them. Thats how it goes. It sounds so so ridiculous, I know. People will care too much about what other people will think to speak their mind.

We played against extremely poor opponents who didn't take their chances. Had that been any CL team or even PL squad for that matter, we would of lost.

We had hardly any pace, poor ball control all over the place, Lamela was awful but he'll get away with it because he scored and people again protect him and start getting all upset that supporters show him no faith.

I didn't like Harry Redknapp as a manager but we played our best football under him. Fast, attacking, direct. Since AVB (who I really wanted to work), we have been so boring and we scrape through games. We hardly deserve winning most games these days. Yes we have a young squad and some exciting players but we just don't look dangerous or threatening anymore. Kane looks fantastic, even if he hasn't scored and Alli looks good with his little runs but its to no effect. I long for the days where we were quick, attack-minded and showed real passion and flair. I really hope I am proven wrong because I will gladly hold up my hands and say so but it doesn't look like its going to happen again and we're only 1 month into the season.

God, what a shed load of sanctimonious guff.

Kind of ironic that you say "supporters show him no faith"

Evidently you have a different idea of what supporter means to the rest of the planet, the sane ones anyway.

Jesus we've got some clumsy and careless players. So many times good situations fizzle out due to poor control or players wanting to fuck about instead of getting their heads up and playing a good out ball quickly. Njie was screaming for the ball their but for some inexplicable reason Rose chose to dither.

Na they don't spoil fuck all, this isn't a site on spelling or on being grammatically correct, you knew what he meant, get on with it please instead of taking the thread off topic.

Spurs rule by the way...
