TEAM FORM - Spurs -WLLWL --------- Wolfsberger - WLWLW ------ (All Competitions)
We will be looking to put Sunday's loss to West Ham United behind us when we host Wolfsberger in the Europa League last 32 on Wednesday evening. We are now nine points adrift of the top four in the Premier League after going down 2-1 to London rivals West Ham at the weekend. However, we have looked a lot stronger in Europe and lead Wolfsberger 4-1 heading into the second leg of our tie.
Jose has a strong love affair with the Europa League and its UEFA Cup predecessor, and it is a competition he may well be left to rely on to salvage our season. Winning a cup of any sort would make this a successful campaign for Mourinho, though, and he still has two chances to achieve that aim. We have an EFL Cup final showdown with Manchester City to look forward to in April, while continental success is also a realistic prospect. The last 16 of the Europa League is now in sight after goals from Son, Bale, Moura and Vinicius helped us to a comfortable win last week.
Wolfsberger, competing in their first major European knockout tie, must now create some history if they are to advance through. No team in UEFA Cup/ Europa League history has ever overturned a three-goal deficit from the first leg at home during the knockout stages. Feldofer’s side finished above Feyenoord and CSKA Moscow to reach the last 32 but, positioned fifth in the Austrian Bundesliga, the gulf between themselves and us was shown last week. We also boast a good record on home soil in Europe, winning each of their last four matches at our Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Champions League and Europa League, scoring 16 times and conceding twice.
For the visitors,Peretz has been ruled out and Spangler is nursing an injury. However, Leitgeb - who started five of Wolfsberger's six group games - is back in contention after missing the first leg. Vizinger scored in Sunday's 2-1 league win at Sturm Graz and should lead the line at ours in North London on Wednesday.
Lo Celso and Aurier are our only injury absentees for this game, though Rodon will also play no part as he was not registered in Tottenham's European squad. Mourinho handed a number of fringe players a start in the first leg and will likely name a similar lineup for this match. Son was among the starters and indeed the goal scorers in Budapest, but the South Korean forward will surely be given the day off on Wednesday. That is also expected to be the case for the likes of Kane, Ndombele and Hojbjerg. Assuming Son drops out, Vinicius will be the favourite to get the nod up top as he looks to build on a return of four goals in this season's competition – none of our players have more. The only other change from the first leg could come at the back, where Tanganga is in line to get the nod in place of Dier, who started against West Ham.

Ironically they've put us on BT Sport 1 ahead of the two CL games (one of which involves City)

How come this is being played on a Wednesday?

Because both Arsenal and Tottenham were drawn to play at home on the same day.

UEFA has decreed that this can't happen because the Arsenal players wouldn't be able to hear Mikel Arteta over Joe Hart shouting 'mine', and so one of the teams had to move to Wednesday.

Arsenal asked if they could keep the Thursday as they're not used to playing on a Wednesday, and we graciously accepted.

You wouldn't have thought the clash mattered without fans but I guess rules are rules so they stick with them.

They have to attack and they will be even more vulnerable at the back, good opportunity for some players to score goals and get some confidence (Bergwijn mainly).

Really hope Bergwijn starts in this, would be a good opportunity for him to finally get on the scoresheet again and gain some confidence.

5pm? Fucking hell.

Anyway, looking forward to the draw on Friday.
Any weak teams left? Could do with another friendly draw as we are so sh#t this season. Feel sorry for Jose in a little way when your defenders do defensive howlers in every game! Rant over COYS?

Granada, go up against Soldado.

We all know what would happen.

I think when the draw was made, 2,000 fans were being allowed in at the time and there was talk of it becoming more by the time this was played - it was before the Kent variant triggered more chaos.
