You have to wonder about the manager? Were we defeated before we even started? Did he sacrifice the three points today so that he could make a point to the chairman?

Whatever he did, he fucked up. OK Gomes aint the best but he may have saved a couple of those that flat footed Friedel; Starting with Kranjcar in central midfield was suicide; and Crouch up front is a disaster waiting to happen.

Krancjar (as much as i like him) is not good enough over 90 minutes and certainly not in central area. Every time a city player sidestepped him, he was lagging.

In Crouch we knbow that every EPL defence knows how to play him and when i see Dawson in possession ignoring his midfielders so that he can punt it up in the vicinity of Crouch's head that pisses me off no end.

I have to also comment on Bale and lennon here. What exactly did they offer? Since the games against Milan, Bale has been poor (when not injured). Lennon is still not producing a sufficient number of assists. He will win you the occasional corner that VDV will kick into the arms of the opposing keeper (usually).

really disappointed with the lack of fight and organisation in the side. Is Dawson really a top CB?? I have to wonder now..

I have never looked forward to an international break before as i do this one!

Embarrased today - Big time!

I am usually not one prone to over reaction but what alarms me most about today is how far off the pace we are. We are pedestrian !!! This is much the same personnel that played with such zest and pace in the CL last year. No hunger either (except VDV & Livermore when he came on - although Livermore looks a limited player). But really, the following sums it up for me:

1. Dawson is not a top, top centre half.
2. Huddlestone slows our game down too much (as does VDV if he drops down too deep)
3. We are f@!!in awful with Crouch in the side (been said on here many many times).
4. What has happened to Bale, does he think it is 2008 again?
5. Did I miss the memo where Gomes has been made an outcast (or is he injured).
6. In parts Modric showed he is our best player, but now I think take the £40m and move on we look like a club with the weight of the world on our shoulders.

Anyway rant over, I will probably be happy again in 3 days time, with 4 new signings, life will be good again, but for today I don't want to like football (its been years since I felt this down beat over spurs, last year I was thinking this is the best Spurs side since 87 !!!

I honestly don't know why so many are blaming Levy here.

Is it Levy that decided to play Krancjar and Modric in CM with 2 touchline hugging wingers out wide? Is it Levy that puts faith in players like Defoe and Crouch?

I seriously don't get why Levy getting the blame.

Do you think if other managers had their first choice defensive midfielders out they would play what is essentially 2 no 10s there?? Absolutely ridiculous. Especially when you see that City are playing a 4-2-3-1 with creative players like they have in the 3 and solid powerful players in the 2. You cannot in your right mind think that Modric and Krancjar will be able to stop them. Completely inept tactically from Redknapp.

Now we know just how far from top four we are and today's team selection sums up Harry completely. Against a team that have world class strikers and midfielders, who have already shown their attacking ability this season, he puts out a midfield with two wide playwers who do not defend and two in CM who are not great defenders. Your right Harry we were wide open and they strode right through us. The sooner we get rid of Redknap the better.
It's no use selling Modric now as it is too late to buy thquality we need.

You lot don't have to face the City fans. On the plus side they've just bought me 10 pints of Joey Holts because I couldn't make the game. Bless em.

A lot of pundits will eat their words about Dzeko.

Horrific to watch.

First half it could have been different, we arguably had the best two chances in Bale and Crouch, however after that we were absolutely thumped.

Im really annoyed at Harry, I hate to have been proved correct but I have said before both the Utd and City games we should have played a proper three man centre mid considering our limitations in that area atm. How the fuck can he not see this!!?? What on earth made him think that Modric and Kranjcar would work? :bang:

When we had possession it didnt look too bad at times, but no protection and then defenders making mistakes and we have been rightly thrashed.

Dawson really concerns me, seems to be going backwards as a player when he should be in his prime. Kaboul like the other night just doesnt get tight enough to his man.

Hudd is another who I just dont see what he is contributing right now, again seems to be going backwards.

Lennon is the one that annoys me the most, doesnt beat his man, doesnt do anything. Had a couple of occasions in the first half where in acres of space could have crossed it first time, but didnt and then the chance was gone and he lost possession. Nasri showed him the value of crossing early when having the chance to (for the first goal). Unfortunately some of our players just seem devoid of any footballing intelligence.

Faaaaaaaaaackkkkkkkkkkkkk that was bad.

The Crouch miss was the turning point, imo. Adebayor would've put that away, it would've been 1-1 and with someone who can tackle in the midfield, they wouldn't've steamrolled us.

As I've said before, odds-on Man U will win today, Arsenal would've played 3, with 1 point. In no way is their season over, and ours is in no way over either. We've not just played two of the best teams in the country, but the world. Dzeko was beyond class, and that was the difference.

We'll still be challenging for 4th come May, imo.

People are not saying we should sell Modric because he is rubbish but BECAUSE HE DOESNT WANT TO PLAY FOR US ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why cant people see that????? if he is made stay here do you all honestly think he will be 100% committed to the cause because if you do your fucking stupid. :bang:

Yeh but things change so quickly in football.....

Is there no possibility that if a new manager came in, added a few players and was doing the job properly so we're competing Modrics stance may change?

We need a new manager. We should keep hold of our class players happy or not, until new management comes in as their view about leaving may change.

Under this management I don't blame Modric for wanting to leave.

Something doesn't sit right with me today, bar the obvious - we got gang raped, .....we never really looked up for it - strange, depsite City showing some real quality, we just look uninterested - very worrying

It was always going to end this way when Harry decided to stick Krancjar CM again against a real quality side.

I dont see why we cant just stick with 442 until we have a squad capable of playing with one up top.

Shocking from Harry again. But im not suprised. I'll go on record and predict a mide October sacking. It's going to go tits up from here.

Redknapp was found wanting yet again, set up his team very badly, totally under- estimated the opposition and failed to motivate them when the heads went down.

I doubt he'll finish the season at Spurs

No-one has mentioned how unfit the team looks. This was the case vs Man U as well. What have they been doing all pre-season?
